  • Hi Jenny, forgot to add that maybe the dogs that Clarence has always chased have gone whereas the puppy/dog next door will still be there, he will probably not bother when he realises the puppy/dog is staying, just my feelings :)

What breed is the puppy next door?, Clarence may be in for a shock in 6 months time. I hope your insured.
  • Thanks pinetree - the puppy is a cocker spaniel (and it is TOO cute!)
We let Clarence out this afternoon and he didn't try anything, although I think he was quite aware that we were watching him... I'm hoping that as the puppy grows up, he'll get used to having him around. We haven't had any encounters with dogs for quite a long time now so there's also the chance he's grown out of it? Of course the puppy should be able to play in the garden unsupervised, but I would hate for there to be an incident that could have been prevented. We've had a friendly chat with the neighbours and all seems fine so far... Fingers crossed!

Oh dear.. Google comes up with a lot of interesting things...

none of them suitable for a free roaming cat though - just temporary measures for vets/groomers
  • Imagine getting a pup and not asking your new neighbour's opinion beforehand.

Damned inconsiderate if you ask me.
    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!
  • All - perhaps my original post came across wrong, but my only concern was for the puppy's safety. I have seen two cats be killed by dogs (neither the cats nor dogs were my own), and it is shocking how quickly it can all go wrong. So I am overprotective, but I've been enjoying a stress free period knowing there were no dogs nearby, and now I'm worried again! But it seems like it may work out ok, Clarence is older now and both parties are aware of the situation...
  • Hi Jenny, Im sure they will get on fine, I wouldnt worry :)

Yes, he is insured, and it has always been a worry that one day a dog will get revenge! It would be his own fault, but I'd hate to lose him (even if he is a nightmare...)

And where is a photo of Clarence the dog chaser?

Thread not valid without a photo ;)
