Spoke to a CSA at Sky who was totally clueless. As I bought through an alleged 3rd party MSE, she couldn't as yet verify what I am expected to pay. Now not holding my breath after recent comments that I am going to get the entertainments package with Complete Sky Sports for £11.25 per month.
The pricing layout appears to be totally misleading and I will wait for the call hopefully tomorrow from The Sky adviser and clarify what I am expected to pay. I only wanted really the Sports package only. We shall see.0 -
without sounding too thick can someone explain to me what Sky World is because as i understand it its pretty much all packages eg entertainment extra, sports and movies with HD? so why does it say its £34 down to £17 on MSE but on the site it says its £65 therefore costing £32ish on the offer?
anyway i have opted for all packages but not in HD and i was wondering if anyone had had any luck changing their order once they have placed it? Best number to call on if you have??
Thanks in advance0 -
Are MSE making money from this?June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving
July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550
October challenge £100 a day. £385/£31000 -
I have gone for the same as you Lisa and I noticed that MSE have quoted a cheaper price. I assume it is just a typo and I am expecting to pay the higher price sky quote.
If you select sky world as a package it comes out the same price as if you select them all seperately.0 -
Sorry I meant if you take away the HD option.0

I have tried to cut and paste from the website but it has gone a bit gobbledeegook, with my entertainments package and sky sports ordered.,as I say I expected to pay £11.25 per month and if that isn't going to happen it is totally misleading. The £42.50 is the price without discounts and £11.25 is with the discounts

At the bottom it says £10 off TV for your first month only. So it means your direct debit will be £10 cheaper for the first month only.
But I do agree, either they are deliberately trying to mislead, or they have just done a very bad job of displaying the information.0 -
Sky really need to get their act together with this. It is still a good offer and I have taken it, but total MONTLY cost is what people are consenting to be taken out of their account. The actual monthly cost is not displayed anywhere. The one off £10 appears at the bottom after the totting up and so the way it is presented is incorrect. People aren't misunderstanding, it is presented completely wrong. I rang Sky to query this from a family and friends offer (the same offer as this really) a few weeks ago. It took them two days to find a member of staff to work out what had happened. I chopped my nose off to spite my face and cancelled it on that occasion because I was never told it was a half price offer, just a reduced offer so I genuinely thought that I would be paying the monthly cost as displayed. If they don't know how their calculations work, how is the consumer expected to know?0

The price showing on all our checkout screens is minus the £10 you paid today to set it up - mine says it'll be 75p - but the offer is for £10.75, so I know it's not counting the £10 I paid.
I agree you're going to be paying Standard Sky TV £10.75 (same as me) plus Sky Sports at £10.50 that you added, which is £21.25 a month, that's why it's currently showing as £11.25 because the £10 deposity-thing isn't included.
Mine looks like this:
Your order
Monthly cost
Sky TV £0.75 - Entertainment
Half Price Sky TV: For your first 12 months
Upfront payment discount: £10 off TV - month 1 only
One off cost
Sky+ box - Free
TV standard set-up - Free
Free: Sky+ Install
Anytime+ engineer set-up - Included
Upfront Payment - £10
Benefits and extras
Sky Anytime+ - Free
£50 M&S eVoucher - Free
Monthly cost with offers - £0.75
Monthly cost without offers - £21.50
One off cost - £10"There is no substitute for time."

When I first entered the website, I put my code given into the sky sports package first as that is really all that I wanted.
It then gave me the entertainments package which I wasn't that fussed about but to me clearly stated that I would get Sky Sports package 1 and 2 +The entertainments package for £11.25 per month.
Now realised I am not going to get this so will wait for an interesting phone call over the next day or so from a sky representative.0
