I think Apple has become a bit too rich for my blood!

Very expensive when compared to other rivals.
I can get the HTC One X sim free from Amazon for £380.00
Add in a Vodafone sim only deal for £10.50 with 300 mins and 500mb data and I'm spending £26.33 over 24 months.
A 32gb iPhone(same capacity as HTC) on Vodafone is going to be £33 per month AND £269 up front for 600 minutes and 500mb data. That's £44.21 a month.
So that's £429.12 more expensive over 2 years.
Admittedly I've omitted;
Cashback deals on phone&sim/contract
extra 300 minutes
Adapter price
Lower costs abroad with local sims
Changing contract/sim
Depreciation of each brand
I've never owned an iphone and wanted to try one out so I've waited until Apple's offering to compare the iphone/OneX/S3/Lumia knowing I'll be buying one of them very soon. Reading the online blogs and sites the first three seem to be topping the lists S3 most often followed by OneX then iPhone IMO.
Thing is they seem to be split by hairs or whatever UI / general experience the reviewer tends to favour so on that note when one phone comes out at 170% of the rival's price it tends to rule it out on a value basis.0 -
Hmmmm let me think 600 for a phone or a phone for 220 that does the same but with better camera. I will stick to my phone with no contract and payg all you can eat data so can watch Netflix. This month now I have used 3.9 g of data. The word about the scammers is spreading like marmite here in the westcountry.
We workers all love it and the ppc hate it :rotfl:0 -
I used 13+GB the other month on a sim, gotta love it....
Different devices, different networks, different sims, payg or contract...i'm a savvy saver
No one "size" fits all
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

Can you point me in the direction of the £220 phone that is the same spec as the iPhone 5?? Might save me some money if it's true!0 -
For those appauled at the price and comapring the iphone 5 with cheaper phones, might i ask what car you drive?!
Or for that matter, which supermarket you use?
Or what brand is your laptop/computer?
With every product available there is almost always cheaper alternatives. People spend their money on what they want to. I dont have a car (just got rid) because i dont need one ( very money saving i here you say) Yet i have a £1500 push bike (not so moneysaving?!). I dont spend a lot on going out (dont like going out) i do spend more than the average person does on xbox live. What i enjoy and do with my money is my business. Why, when iphone is mentioned do all the people who have never/will never own an iphone come out of the woodwork. It appears they eagerly await the press conference to see how quickly they can put it down.
6 months ago i bought a laptop knowing full well right now (today) i would be able to get a better model at the same price. Why did i do this, i wanted a laptop then.
I will want an iphone 5 on 21st and will be trying to get one. I know it will probably be cheaper in 6 months just as im aware there are cheaper options available. I am not an idiot and can make my own decisions based on what i want and what i can afford.
Please, to the haters, get over yourself and the assumption that you have some form of god given right to belittle and judge someone based on what they choose to buy. Leave it, let the apple fans discuss what they want to discuss and keep your oar out.0 -

I am curious to know what exactly an iphone can do that the Huawei can't... not thought of anything so far... hard to believe its 10 times inferior apparently eh?
To the op, is your iphone4 broken? if not why change for the sake of a bit of a speed increase and a few millimetres more of pixels. Are you saying the iphone 4 doesn't work well or is too slow?0
