  • They are fantastic for yorkie pud batter (or any batter) mixing cakes, brownies brilliant meringues. I haven't tried bread/dough in mine yet

We bought a sausage maker attachment as we'd already been given a grinder attachment that was really good fun & I can't wait to make some more sausages

Kirsty, could I trouble you for your easy pizza dough recipe?

    Thanks :)

Hi here it is :D this makes 2 Pizzas or one slightly deeper and one thin an crispy, we do one plain for kids and one with meat toppings for me and hubby and bottomless pit teenager. ENJOY!!

    375g Strong White bread Flour
(I use plain flour alot too,if havent got bread flour in)
    1/2 tsp salt
1 pkt (7g) Active Dry Yeast
    2 TBSP Olive Oil
250ml Tepid Water (little more if needed I use hot ish water out tap :D)

First oil your pizza trays with olive oil.
    Place dough hook onto kitchenaid

Place Flour, salt & yeast into mixer bowl.
Mix these dry ingredients together for a few seconds on speed 2 of kitchenaid.
Add olive oil into mixer bowl, then gradually add the water and begin to knead, start off on slow speed. If dry add a bit more water. Knead for 5 mins.
I then roll and stretch it straight away onto my pizza trays. I then leave to rise for at least an hour.

You can freeze the dough, I often make it and freeze half, it is ok to roll out after frozen but to be honest not as good, I sometimes roll it and freeze ready rolled.

Once risen spread with tom puree/pizza base topping or homemade pizza sauce, top with softened garlic an onion. Add toppings and grated cheese. Bake in oven gas mark 7/200c
However I bake it at a lower heat to ensure it cooks through especially if I am doing something else at same time like filled jackets. My favourite topping is left over chicken and a slug of sweet chilli sauce over the chicken , just thought I would share that, as I am now thinking/drooling over that topping , not made chicken pizza in a while!
Hope ur hubby feels better soon, OUCH! make the cakes and liquidise them for him ;)

Got mine off Ebay a few years ago - still not cheap but worth every penny as I use it almost every day.
Great for any kind of sponge pudding or cake - the balloon whisk makes them so light and fluffy.

Also use it for bread, pizza dough and pasta (the pasta rolling and cutting attachment is brilliant).

Never tried mashed potato but i will now.

I was lucky enough to be given a Kitchenaid by a friend having a clear out who never used it!

I'm new to home baking / bread asking etc but really want to give it a go.

Is it just the same as any other mixer?

Does anyone have any good recipes for using the Kitchenaid or can point me in the right direction of any?

    Thanks x

Just use it the same as any mixer. Use the flat beater for cakes, the whisk for egg whites, cream etc and the dough hook for bread.

I gave my Kitchenaid to my daughter and bought a Kenwood Chef so I could use the attachments to it rather than having separate gadgets.

  • I love my kitchen and use it nearly everyday! I got a kitchenaid recipe book free with mine and it's ok but any good cook book would give you some ideas.

I bake a lot and the cake success rate is about 98% (2% is me not sticking to the recipe) but the thing my family love the most is mashed potatoe made with cream and butter......amazing and you'll never see another lump again x

Are you talking about the mixer?

I just use it whenever I would have used my old electric mixer.

If you chose to make whipped cream in it, watch it closely or you'll wind up with butter.
