Mashed potatoes come out great when mixed with the k beater in the Kenwood Chef.
I've also used it to combine ingredients for things like stuffed peppers. It's easy to clean up and you can make large quantities in the big bowl, so it's quite useful for things like that.
think i will have a go at mash, i have heard people rave about it before!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I am using mine loads at the moment. I have been making the braid dough from the family of 5 store cupboard thread. Its on page 3 if I remember. You can make that savoury as well. I do a pizza one with tomato and cheese.

I also use mine for making butter, perfect results every time.

is the attachment good? is it too fiddly/hard to clean?

not sure where the best place for attachments is.

I bought the 'Vegetable Slicer and Shredder' accessory pack, Code MVSA which is around £50+ and the 3 extra drums and use these more than the mixer itself. Like you we are always trying to eat more healthy food, which is difficult as cooking is one of my main interests. I use these for slicing, shredding, julienn-ing (!) - one of the most frequent things being to make batches of 'dry' coleslaw (white cabbage, red onion, and julienne carrot usually, but anything you like of course) and keep this in the fridge. I then add dressing enough for each meal as I need it. Calorie watching normally entails my making up a dressing of fat free fromage frais, lemon juice and a tad of mayonnaise (you can still taste the mayo even using a very small amount)

The body and the drums go in the dishwasher, although they're easy enough to wash, not at all fiddly.

There are many sites selling the complete 'extras' pack with mincer et al (over £100), but some sell the accessory packs individually. This is one, although I have no personal experience of them:

i was v lucky to get one when amazon had them on sale for £149! it was only the white one which was perfect for kitchen anyway :)

i am sure someone has mentioned making meatloaf with it but not sure if it would be easier in a bowl with a wooden spoon?

i really want to use it more

Yay, another person who saw the deal - I got the same one...I stroke mine on a daily basis, cos it's so pretty (I personally prefer it's looks to the Kenwoods.)

Savory- Mostly things like pastry/bread. I think we'd need to get attachments to use it for other things...oh, I did use it for yorkshires....they were lovely and fluffy :D

I'd probably test it out with a basic sponge mix and see how much lighter and fluffier you can get it to go with your new toy whisking it up for you.

    Hi honey06,

I also became an owner of a Cranberry coloured KitchenAid on Christmas Day courtesy of my very lovely partner :-) So far I have made meringues (twice!) and a lovely banana bread which was eaten on NYE by family before I could even have a slice.

The meringues (simply sugar and 3 egg whites, nothing more) came out beautifully - crispy and chewy, didn't sink in the middle as they always used to when whisking by hand - surely a sign of a good mix.

I am struggling with new recipes though so any suggestions much appreciated!
Now totally debt free & it feels better than anything money can buy!

I make this using the dough hook, knead for 7 mins on setting 3 or 4 and its always fantastic even though I don't tend to use the onions only rosemary. Keeps in a tin for a day or so but the salt flakes will dissolve so it doesn't look as pretty

My DD and I swooned over the cranberry one on a website on Saturday - you are sooooo lucky.
