i got my kitchenaid a few weeks ago and its lovely!
the only problem is that i am trying to lose weight and all the recipes/uses for a mixer seem to be for cakes.
are there any savoury dishes or healthy recipes i can be using it for? i really want to get on and use it more
thanks

Hi
I've got a kitchenAid too. It IS a thing of beauty. I love it!!!
I only seem to use it for sweet recipes too. How about meringues? I know they're sweet but there's no fat in them! Um....I'll see if I can think of anything savoury.August Grocery Challenge £98.02/£100

So far (I am also a new owner) I have made yorkshire puddings (made 6 giant ones when I normally get 5 out of the batter, and they were huge!), flatbread dough, tortilla dough and shortcrust pastry (for a sweet bakewell tart, but could have been for quiche etc).
you could easily make pasta dough with it too, and turn it into ravioli or something else delicious0 -

I have a chopper/slicer/grater on my Kenwood and use that for veg. Used it daily when I was going through a stir-fry stage!
I use the mincer bit for making fish cakes, meatballs etc...
Ooh, and then there is of course the liquidiser which helps with smoothies, soups, curries...
I cannot think of a single savoury thing I have used the actual mixing attachments for, apart from bread.
Just had a quick browse on ebay and there does not seem to be a second hand Kitchenaid market, like there is with the Kenwoods. That's the only reason I went with the Kenwood, cause I think your machine is beautiful!:wall:0 -

i lust over one of these they are lovely, v.expensive . i keep looking at these i a local shop - but cant justify the expense and i am not convinced i would use it....i would dust it every day though.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. Mashed potatoes come out great when mixed with the k beater in the Kenwood Chef.
I've also used it to combine ingredients for things like stuffed peppers. It's easy to clean up and you can make large quantities in the big bowl, so it's quite useful for things like that.0 -

i am sure someone has mentioned making meatloaf with it but not sure if it would be easier in a bowl with a wooden spoon?
i really want to use it more- prior planning prevents poor performance!
