I've found I'm doing a lot less this year, both in terms of what's available, and what's worth the bother. I've gone from ~30 assignments a month last year to around 5 a month this year.0

Mysteryshopper2, you either work for the company or you don't. If you don't there is no issue other than the usual ones of knowing someone who does work for them or if you work for a competitor. Hopefully you will be successful in your job hunt but until then don't worry about it.0

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. Almost all the companies I work for have lost at least one client each and I think it's more or less the beginning of the end (sorry to sound so dramatic!). The number of clients I have mystery shopped in the past that now have "customer satisfaction surveys" or are now closed is freaky. The fees are also dropping like it's no ones business. And the worst thing is people are picking up the awful super low fee'd RE supermarkets as soon as they go on. I have never seen the bed shops swiped that fast either! Eeeeek.
Hi mimi, agree with you and stabilo brillo it does seem very quiet on the MS front. Even decent companies like gfk lowered the fees by 10% as well.0 -

Is it just me or has GFK lost the major phone shop too? 2 months and I have not seen a single one. Also, TERN and their eyecare stores seem to have gone their own ways too. Eeeek.
REACT and ABAI have definitely lost 1 client each. And slowly slowly, all of RE's clients are closing down!0 -
Gah! Just enterred one of those GFK small fruit phone shops against the wrong store.
Emailed them to let them know, reckon I should enter the same one in the right slot or the other one and tell them to swap them round?
It's been a long day... can't even pass the telly test!
For refereance, I stuck the data for the other shop in the first shop's field, they emailed me this morning and were fine about swapping them over at their end.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -
I'm hoping a few have gone to GR as I had 6 on mine tonight!! SIX! I've only ever seen 1 every few weeks in the past! Lol0

It might just be because I'm relatively new to it but it seems like a grey area to me and I don't want to mess things up and do something I shouldn't and risk losing money on any jobs I do because of it. At the same time I don't want to not take jobs just in case because to be honest I do need the money especially if I don't get the job or another one soon.
Im guessing it is
If your reports are that over complicated I have pity for the proof readers.
Its a black and white issue not grey as pointed out above.
there are more important things to worry about in life and MS than that. If your worried, dont work for any company at all, ever
then you wont have a conflict of interest in case you one day get an interview for a job you dont get with a competitor of a company0 -

shouldnt be posting any of that:eek:
so many other ways you could have addressed your concerns on it0 -
whitelabel, I really don't understand why you've felt the need to be so rude to mysteryshopper2 - last time I checked, one of the purposes of this thread was for giving and receiving advice, and their question was perfectly reasonable.
mysteryshopper2, welcome to the board (or goodbye, as the case may be - I wouldn't blame you for not sticking around!) and good luck with the job interview.
I am  at the message posted by The mystery Man! Very naughty for doing so, but it's always good to have a reminder of why I ditched them! Hope the people affected tell them where to stick their proposed pay cut.
I too am a little uncertain about my MSing future - until this week, I'd only done one job since before Christmas. As PeteW says, it's a combination of fewer jobs available, and that most of them simply aren't worth doing nowTime to look for a 'proper' part-time job, methinks!

(Knew I'd forgotten something in my last post)
Hi Mimi, I do believe GFK have lost their phone client - another company I'm signed up with have just started doing those shops, and at a lower fee, surprise surprise! I hadn't noticed Tern's eyecare stores going, but that's too bad if they have - particularly sorry to see Tern lose out, they're one of the few good guys left!0
