If your reports are that over complicated I have pity for the proof readers.
Its a black and white issue not grey as pointed out above.
there are more important things to worry about in life and MS than that. If your worried, dont work for any company at all, ever
then you wont have a conflict of interest in case you one day get an interview for a job you dont get with a competitor of a company
Tbf I think you asked for the "overcomplicated waffle" there, the first post was clearly asking about the effect having a job interview had and you replied telling them that they should know they can't shop places where they know an employee. S/he even acknowledges that post was overcomplicated in it because of having to explain him/herself!
Plus I can see how it might look grey to a newbie, even after a couple of years I'd have thought you'd have needed to temporarily stop shopping the client, though I wouldn't go as far as not shopping competitors etc.
And as for there being worse things to worry about I hope that really isn't your normal view on legally binding contracts.0 -

I hadn't noticed Tern's eyecare stores going, but that's too bad if they have - particularly sorry to see Tern lose out, they're one of the few good guys left!
Hello HD. The main Tern eye store has started doing those stupid customer satisfaction surveys!!! I have not seen any of that particular store visit in 4 months now. They may have dropped the visits to twice yearly but I reckon they have gone myself.0 -

I'm not so sure, as there were video visits for them in Jan and Feb.
The phone client is with another company. I'm not with GFK, but have just done the phone client for someone else.0 -

what legally binding contract is there to discuss in this instance that is being affected by an interview that at this point, the outcome which is unknown ?
I would be more concerned about securing the role, than potential competitors unless a specific brief said not to and yes there are bigger worries in life.
I politely answered their question in my first post and explained why I had initial reservations in the second.
The whole scenario was so protracted that I, failed to see how anyone looking at it would not easily, see the logical decision to make.
Some people clearly are not as logical thinkers as others.0 -

They thought that their contracts with the shopping companies may be effected, the fact they're not is irrelevant, if they thought it might then of course they're going to be worried. I don't see the harm in asking if you're unsure, surely better to do that than assume it's fine and then get into trouble later?
I don't think it was a logic issue, it looks like it was more being unsure of what a "conflict of interest" means. I have seen jobs that have gone as far as not allowing those who know someone who has previously worked for a competitor, which seems to be a weaker or at least as weak link than having a job interview for the actual client to me.0 -
Can anyone help me please? :A
I am trying to log in to GYP from my desktop PC. On the log in page I am seeing a message in red : Cookie is disabled in your Internet browser. Please enable cookie in your Internet browser.
Now, my cookies are just fine and I've been through all the Tool-Internet Options-privacy stuff. I've altered it to enable all cookies from all sites. I've tried restarting and restarting to no avail. The log in button wont budge.
However I can successfully log in on my ipad?
Please, please what am I doing wrong?0 -
Try another browser? Are you using IE? In which case, you shouldn't expect any website to actually work! Try Firefox or Chrome.0

Thanks for your reply. Yes I am BUT every other single web page is okay. I have tried the cookie testing page and it was okay, in fact I even tried several test pages and they are all okay! It's only GYPs site that won't conform  and it was only until recently. I'm hoping it an error on their part/page or else I'll have to flick over to Safari. Just annoying.0 -

I've had this issue in the past and got round it by opening a new tab in IE and then selecting and "inprivate" browsing session from that tab.0 -

Oh boo hiss - who completes those customer satisfaction surveys anyway? Although I'll be tempted to look at one now and see if there's a free comment space to put "bring back your MS programme!"0
