I may be wrong, someone said they did the video visits recently. As far as I am aware, the normal Tern glasses shops went up once a quarter and the last lot I did were not 3 months ago. Oh well.
I think the TNS ex coffee shop just goes to show what no more ms can do to them. They may do customer satisfaction surveys, but as you said who is going to bother filling them in!
Oh and FREE LISTINGS on eBay THIS WEEKEND in case anyone wants to get rid of any purchases.0 -
Clients come, clients go, clients move agency, clients go bust.
Such is life in the MS world, the vast majority of clients don't MS 12 months of the year, lots put a program of improvements in place, MS it and adjust as needed, Mystery shopping constantly doesn't do any good if the client doesn't have a scooby how to evaluate the data and put changes in place.
I've lots of work and would have had more if I hadn't just binned Associa, yes fees are down a little and clients want more for the fee but such is the way of the world at the moment.0 -
You shouldn't posting the client name or the fee, but personally I don't think that's acceptable from the MS. If you followed the assignment instructions, they need to pay what what was promised. I would tell them that if the client wants a discount, it needs to come out of the MS' cut, not your's.
The client doesn't want a discount but they dropped a bo***ock meaning lots of people made visits and couldn't do the work, now they want the work done and quickly they don't want to pay for first visits.
I binned them the first time this project was pulled at the last minute, I'm not keeping space for them in my diary, turning down other work, for them to pull the jobs hours before its due to start.0 -

I do think some of the companies have stretched mystery shoppers to the limit with their low fees. There is one company where the jobs used to fly off the page. There are currently loads on in the area where I live and they've been sitting there for 3 weeks now. They have put the fee up to what you used to be 3 or 4 years ago and yet they are still sitting there. If I wasn't so busy already I would do them at the current fee.0 -
Hi everyone,
I've been mystery shopping since about November, firstly for Mystery Shopper Ltd but now also for Serve Legal and TNS. I am aware that I need to register as self employed - I've read the 1st page of the thread, so do I literally just login and declare it?
Can someone also confirm that TNS don't do PAYE? I've seen conflicting things on here and on their website.

In reply to Beanstalkgirl, I was initially confused about TNS too but I can confirm that they do not do PAYE and you have to declare it yourself.0

Hi
yup you can register online or by phone, which ever youre more comfortable with.
Details are here : http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/sa/register.htm
You may find there are free local seminars that they run too, that will explain things for you on record keeping, best practice etc
many people find them very useful so if you do phone, ask about them, though they often send leaflets out about them too0 -

I have a feeling your work ended up in my living room - and its still there!
I have told them that I am really busy for the next few weeks and if they want me to do it it will need to be worth my while.
At the start of the year I was worried about my MS future but now I am doing better than ever. I have expanded my company base and the distance I am willing to travel and have lots of visits booked in. I know I am competing with other MSers in my area - I know a few are on here but there is still enough out there for me to make a decent income.Best Wins - New York Trip, going Nov 2014: £350 House of Frazer Vouchers: £70 Handbag: Nitro Circus Live Tickets0 -
