I have had a Livebox since 2007 and I get 5.5Meg, so Orange is not restricting the Livebox.

As I found out ioscorpio Orange were blaming my line for faults and not being capable of doing over 2MB, not the fact they capped my speed which they continually denied & blamed BT for months.

A joint complaint against BT Wholesale/Openreach to BT chief executive soon told the truth India & UK broadband staff were lying to me "the customer" & then they were eating Diamond served humble pie....speed cap lifted & apology (which I refused to except).

Now they are probably doing the same to Livebox accounts as BT Wholesale charges over Orange LLU since the Orange LLU handover to BT Wholesale will be costing them a fortune...they will be doing anything to get customers off Livebox discounted & included freebie packages as BT Wholesale costs + free Second Line call costs + non Orange Line Rental = lost revenue/profit = more payments to BT Wholesale = less for Orange/EverythingEverywhere.

So desperate to stop them costs they are trying to close "FREE broadband for life" but expect the same customers to pay the mobile contract term until term completion that gave them FREE broadband entitlement & charge for the broadband via "keep FREE broadband via Orange line rental" that cost them just over £8 at BT Wholesale prices.

This all from the grandparents ex Vice President (of France Telecom who owns Orange) now running Orange/T-Mobile's parent company Everything Everywhere.

Olaf Swantee (EE Chief Exec) has done more damage to Orange UK than any chief exec done to Orange UK being employed externally from Orange/France Telecom worldwide brands & divisions.

Lets hope he does good with the EE brand, because he has ruined a large part of consumer confidence in Orange UK brands over the last year, ontop of previous Orange chief exec's since France Telecom bought Orange.

If you could see my account notes over 6 years on mobile & broadband you would all be shocked how stupid Orange UK management has been & still is.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
  • From what i understand they said they are closing both the Free & £5 Broadband packages. So anybody with a livebox will also be coming off it. You've just not had the letter yet.

The second line services are also ending on the 28th of October according to the letters.

Well that's news to me & Orange Mobile & Broadband customer care who told me it effects FREE only when I called up seeing the posts on MSE.

If your correct, again Orange hopelessness strikes AGAIN ! Another complaint to my Orange experience bow.

EDIT, nothing on google about it ? Who knows if Orange dont !! lol

I've got the Brightbox (fairly new connection, only about a month ago) and its way better than the piece of junk that I had with BT - my speed has increased quite a bit for a start. It seems good but I havent got much to go on...

  • I have asked this question several times as i was on the £5 deal and was only changed after it was discovered the livebox wasn't going to work. I have been told by many many people both plans are finishing even when calling as a £5 broadband customer. They said its staggered to stop too many calls at once. Im inclined to believe them as the letter states the second line service is finishing, and at the time the only difference between the two packages for myself was the second line service.

On the other hand if i find out it isn't stopping i shall not be a happy bunny and will be transferring back and paying £5.

Even the exe office told me both plans are to finish. So they are either liars, incompetent, or both.

Best you keep your second line activated for now just in case Orange don't stop it soon.

I got same BUT Broadband Unlimited £5.10 a month ;) as I wasnt a tight !!! (& thank god I wasnt seeing as what Orange are doing to the offer below mine that was FREE broadband for life).

Second Line is available to all who had it activated on available plans already. They do want you off them old broadband plans though as since then they can sell you Orange Line Rental & most newer broadband packages that make Orange more revenue & profit.

I wonder if the EE Fibre broadband will relogo Orange Livebox 2 or/& DigitalIPTV boxes from Orange in France since ex Vice President of FT/Orange France took over Everything Everywhere as chief executive a year ago. Would be such a shame if they did not have one, either or both in UK as intended before ALEXANDER messed the format up that appears in most Orange marketed country divisions.

I'm very tight so have never actually paid the monthly £5, its now £6 + VAT

Did you have Broadband Plus with Wireless & Talk chargable 01/02 & 100 countries bundles with Wanadoo at one point ?

Or is that ANOTHER variation of Broadband Plus with Orange calls included, which is exactly the same as the £5 Unlimited Broadband offer but was £10 with the mobile + broadbans promotion ?

Never seen such before. Perhaps retentions have bolted this & that on, which is not favourable to you if so as you now pay £0 from your above copy/paste of your account details, like FREE broadband you might be forced to take Orange Line Rental to retain FREE broadband now given Orange are so deceitful & they may force the change to a current broadband plan which loses you SECOND LINE - I hope not for your sake Neil, but I put nothing past that company now.

£5 Broadband Unlimited customers pay for it and as FREE broadband if I was in the position they customers are with broadband removal Orange will see me in a small claims court. One person can change a outcome for society & if my £5 broadband is even tried to be withdrawn befor my mobile contract completion Orange will pay & regret trying such. A contract or two contracts bearing on each other is a breach FREE or paid for broadband & I've legally outwitted their supposed "legal team" before, next time I will do it in court from the outset not directly with the company.
