Orange Liveboxes and the 2 meg connection problem.

Just while everybody is about looking at the Orange Problems it reminded me of an issue with the Livebox i had a while back during Oranges LLU process at the exchange and thought i'd bring it up.
After the LLU had taken Orange had unrestricted my speed to what ever my line would handle from 8 meg, but i was only getting a 2 meg connection. After many engineers, speed tests, calls to Orange and replacement liveboxes (i have 6) it took one UK Tech support guy to tell me "Oh yeh the liveboxes no longer work, you wont get over 2 meg"
This 'slightly' angered me as i used my second line all the time, but also wanted faster internet than 2 meg. All be it to say the second line lost, and i now use a netgear router and receive 15 meg.
So if anybody has a livebox and wondered why it seemed a lot faster when you first took it out.. this may be your answer.
As to my main point, i wonder if they recent broadband changes are to put a nail in the coffin of the liveboxes and keep this one under wraps.

Again Orange lies, BT ADSL MAX is upto 8MB & that was sold on non LLU lines as Unlimited Broadband, Orange handing the netwwork to BT Wholesale completely would have no effect on your 8MB speed.
Orange wanting customers old packages with Second Line removed as it costs them money in calls revenue & competes with Orange Line Rental (which is £8ish from BT Wholesale) which was not available at the start of Livebox/Second Line broadband product/s.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Thanks Montage.
I've been having a nightmare with mine since July and many many calls to the outsourced overseas call centre have proved fruitless. Ranging from there's a fault on the line to being told the fault is inside my house (even though the Livebox was connected to the test socket). I asked if it could be the Livebox and was told not to be silly. Eventually got to speak to a UK rep who has ordered me the netgear router (hopefully delivered today) I didn't use the second line much so losing it isn't such a big deal to me to get better internet speeds.0 -
I always used my Netgear router without any problem, then Orange sent me their Livebox after I changed to their phoneline, we had problems from the first day and after a week my son got fed up with it and put the old Netgear router back and its now fine.0

There is a chap called "Nav" at Orange maybe Montage finally spoke to him, he is superb when & if you get to speak to him, tells it as it is.
Nav is UK based but you normally have to get to a very high level of escalation 3/complaint to get him. Always always rings you back without fail.
I have 3 routers, I don't want to lose the 2nd line.0 -

Yes Orange are losing money on the old 2nd line packages.
I pay 10.20 per month, BB plus, (retention deal)I get anytime calls to 01/02 free calls to Orange mobiles and around 100 countries free.
Always ring up at 9 months and get another retention deal, never paid for a full year yet.
Just waiting til they pull the second line.0 -

I got same BUT Broadband Unlimited £5.10 a monthas I wasnt a tight !!! (& thank god I wasnt seeing as what Orange are doing to the offer below mine that was FREE broadband for life).
Second Line is available to all who had it activated on available plans already. They do want you off them old broadband plans though as since then they can sell you Orange Line Rental & most newer broadband packages that make Orange more revenue & profit.
I wonder if the EE Fibre broadband will relogo Orange Livebox 2 or/& DigitalIPTV boxes from Orange in France since ex Vice President of FT/Orange France took over Everything Everywhere as chief executive a year ago. Would be such a shame if they did not have one, either or both in UK as intended before ALEXANDER messed the format up that appears in most Orange marketed country divisions.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
