If you don't like Iphones and are just hear to slag them off don't read or come into the thread.

If they are for you then read the thread. Some people just have a downer on everything. I expect they are the same people that still believe HD DVD's are the way forward and not Blu Ray lol.

Just stop being jealous and get your cash out and buy one!!

I have an Iphone 3gs and am planning on upgrading but i still feel that the new iphone is lame.

I could go to Barclays and get a sticker for it, but that would ruin it
You could put a sticker on anything, not just on a phone. NFC in a phone would be useful for Oystercards but not really for payments.

NFH are you buying one ?
Yes, I'll pay £529 to get one from Apple and remain on my Orange SIM-only contract, which I'll upgrade to an EE 4G SIM when they start offering this.

Don't you feel the LTE will be a premium service?

It was though, my Mastercard Debit in AU was that swipe thing no pin long before UK got it, I had three cards & all 3 accounts linked to each card as chip and pin points in AU have CHQ, SAV & CRE on the obsolete buttons above the keypad in UK, extremely handy as you are never without a card when you other half carries a card lol, NFC is just a newer version.

I only carry a card & mobile always, but occasionally forget my card but never my mobile, sticking it to my card over the phone would be like a chocolate fireguard for me :rotfl:

Be careful/aware NFH that EE might take Orange policy of you must buy a 3G phone on contract to get a 3G contract sim a policy that still remins today all these 3G years later, you might not be able to get a EE plan and sim without a handset bumping up the cost of the UK's only 4G plans...given the ex Vice President of France Telecom took over EE as Chief Executive that policy prob will remain in place with 4GEE.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

It will be expensive - no other telco has managed to buy a licence at auction yet & wont till 2013, it will be priced accordingly as EE has a monopoly for at least a year on 4G.

The now combined & completed Orange/T-Mobile 2G&3G network has been upgraded to meet 3's 21mpbs though. If you get call break ups on 2G even roaming to it on Orange rest assured you are now using a combined old T-Mobile 2G base station.

If you are connected to old 3G T-mobile base stations they will try to force calls & texts to the older T-Mob 2G signal base station as to free spare data capacity for other 3G internet users, I have no doubt Orange & T-Mob customers will be influenced that this issue wont happen on 4G - talk about distorting the market you are the only 4G company for over a year !

3G roaming on T-Mobile it falls back to T-Mobile 2G for calls for me unless I change it to Orange manually & it stays on 3G or hands off to a 2G Orange where calls are not distorted.

Soon many users wont be able to do such as EE will be the network name on all base stations & handsets, you wont know if the base station is a old Orange nor old T-Mobile by December. Well until your on 2G and you know calls breaking up are a old T-Mob 2G base station that is LOL

Currently the MCC/MNC codes are 234-30 for T-Mobile and 234-33 for Orange. Orange SIM cards display 234-30 as "Orange T-Mobile" and 234-33 as "Orange". T-Mobile SIM cards display 234-30 as "T-Mobile" and 234-33 as "T-Mobile Orange". Will they be combining 234-30 and 234-33 into one network with the same MNC when they send SIM updates to rename both networks to "EE"? Otherwise the phone will still see two networks, but both called "EE".

I think they'll make you buy a huge data allowance or an unlimited one, even when you don't need it. When I go on to 4G, I'll use the same amount of data but faster, so I'll be happy with my current 800MB allowance. Otherwise it's like saying that because you buy a fast car, you'll drive more miles.

So apparently the iPhone 5 is designed to fit your hand. Has anyone's hand changed dramatically in the past year, as that's what they said about the last 5 years worth.
  • Interesting read on the BBC regarding the "new " iphone.
The hardware on the iPhone has been the same for two years, since the iPhone 4 and 4S were virtually identical.

Now, having had two years to plot and scheme, Apple's renowned designer Jonathan Ive has replaced the tiny 3.5in (8.9cm) screen with a slightly-less-tiny 4in (10.2cm) screen? Wow. Knock me over with a feather. What do you do with the rest of your time, Jony?

This is what happens when a company is too cheap to invest in research and development. Did you know that Apple spends far less on R&D than any of its rivals - a paltry 2% of revenues, versus 14% for Google and Microsoft?

I'm assuming from professional experiences here that launching a premium brand with such speeds will see EE current premium brand Orange plans beat on the data level of Orange data bundles as standard given the speeds available on 4G, whats the biggest data bundle Orange sells with a calling plan ? I'd imagine it will be more data more cost for the benefit of 4G -poss less minutes, but with termination rates falling maybe not to grab market share from other networks before they launch 4G.

Budget brand T-Mobile will be phased out as its plans, 3G unlimited data in the next few years, defo before the Orange brand, T-Mobile 3G at 21MBPS per minute will cost EE dearly in revenue when getting them on Orange or premium EE brand will make them revenue for the next year at least, possible better deals for customers leaving T-Mobile for this reason & decomissioning the old 2G T-Mobile base station transmitters eventually - given its been falling apart for ten years anyway.
