There seems to be a lot of bad news about pets on this forum at the moment, even those with a happy outcome at the end. As a new pet owner I'm now beginning to freak myself out. I definitely need to speak to my vet about emergency vet procedures and as I don't have a car what would I do if I needed to take a taxi. Some of them won't allow pets inside. I had better get a traveling cage after all...

Thanks SStS. Feel very happy my boy is well. To put it in perspective we do have 2 other cats. Unfortunately we live in a rural area and the road we live on is a country lane so its national speed a very short distance away.
I was talking to someone who had pet insurance for her dog, but every time she took it as it was unwell the bill came to £70 ish and her excess was £75 so in the end she decided it was a waste of money, saying that I haven't actually researched it.
For us it was a mad rush of pyjamas off and an assortment of clothes on before we all piled into the car. Surprising my dd1 managed without doing her hair and make-upMorgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!

Thanks SD. Love your avatar!!
MS today was car insurance, managed to get £177 cheaper than original quote.
Booked MOT in for next week, washed, hung out the washing and ironed, including sheets and towels, done my sunday chores a day early as at work tomoz, sorted out dd2 unworking phone, have labelled school clothes ready and generally tidied. Saving my studying to next week as not in mood.
Car still has a broken passenger window, held up with a piece of wood, but despite being paid last Friday I am already overspent which is disastrous. Was planning a day out Tuesday or Wednesday but now needs to be a free day out..Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!

Have just joined CIAO but although have had helpful review, have just spent ages reviewing and none of them have "taken" any advice? Can anyone give my the heads up about Ciao please? as groping in the dark (fnar fnar)
Also how do I join pine cone please?
Short shift today although challenging in a whole new way, sometimes I do wonder as my job bounces from the bizarre to the downright strange. Least I am never bored. Really lovely week next week as only working mon and Friday.

Had lovely freebie family day out at National mining museum (wakefield) yesterday, which included a 90 minute tour underground, kitted out in hard hats with battery mining lamps. Was there all day and would definitely recommend. We did donate £2 each with our checking tokens but this was optional.
Today visited FIL and MIL, had brother over for lunch and did some more phone box sanding.

Lunch break
1,000 words done. Would really like to get it to a "submit able if desperate" level, which I estimate is only a few hundred off.
Nipped car to garage this morning for MOT, just under £60 (only lamps x3 ) v pleased. Says my window would be £100 for parts at least so sticking with the wood holding up option.
All girls gone to school, albeit one with a missing PE kit. Can't believe I have 3 secondary school children.Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!

Would like to be MF by the time the oldest (13) hits 18 (so we can support her through uni)
Have joined the MFIT (part3) challenge (38) and would like to be at £60,000,00 by three years. Have an old endowment which will pay out in Year 5 and so seems realistic to aim 5 years MF when I will be 44. :T
.
Scores on the doors
Mortgage 1 £6,598.88 - 2.64%
Mortgage 2 £13,792.66 - 2.64%
Mortgage 3 £33,694.31 - 2.54%
Total £54,085.85
That's a difference of £38,369.02 :j:j:j
Have cashed in endowments.
Frugal living saved £3,740.67 (ensuring every quote is the best one, ebay, survey sites, vouchers etc)
So well on track for 5 years but secretly aiming for 4...;) (Sept 2016)

HDK, that's amazing! Does that mean you've met your MFiT target before even the end of year 1?
Either way, serious congrats :T:j:T:j
Well done on the assignment too, I'm in the writing up stage and it HURTS!0
