Yes, but I revised my MFit challenge as the endowment policies made it feel like cheating. So MFIt is now 33k, as endowments were around 20k worth.

Its feels like a major achievement, on the downside I probably drive the worst car in the hospital car park, and potentially my earnings could drop significantly in March, however there's always something around the corner.

Have so lost the will to write the assignment (hence here despite day off to do it), good luck with yours.

It's not cheating if you made the payments HDK!

Well done on the fantastic work (worth having the worst car in the car park really, isn't it?)

Our new to us car just passed its MOT after £300 of repairs, it's probably one of the oldest cars on the street already...
  • well done HDK. £33k is a fantastic achievement.

    Thanks Ed and MM.
Its nice to see it in black and white, a real mental boost, as sometimes it can be quite hard to be constantly be "careful", I know we splurge occasionally but tend to save splurges for biggies. I can't believe I've taken off over 38k

I am also enjoying Christmas shopping on online earnings money, which I knew won't cover it but its still very nice seeing my top of the wardrobe fill knowing its "free".

Have a very clear "plan" for rest of the mortgage, just hope can stick to it.

  • 4,025, although still want another 200 for last section as ran over in other sections then will just need tidying up.

Have eaten way too much rubbish today as always do when assignment writing. Can't believe this is the last one EVER

HDK - when you've remortgaged in the past - do you use a broker or do you just shop around?

Shopped around but then estate agent asked if we wanted to try their broker but he didn't come up with the deal I found which was better than any he did. We were after a very specific mortgage as we borrowed back enough to place a deposit down and then borrowed the whole of the rest of the property, needing a no redemption fee mortgage for when we sold our old one (which we did a few months later).

My best mate uses a broker and has been really pleased with them. I have consistently used Nationwide (and I have searched to check still solid deal) because NW tend to always be "one of" the best performers, also I can pay £500 a month off OP and can do it electronically using their online service, which means I can see it too.

I have a bit of an addictive quirk to my nature and tend to really research stuff, especially if it involves spending money.

  • Still waiting final tot up on being paid too much but looking like £1400 gross (so will be lower than that) they have agreed to spread out between now and March, so at least we can eat next month! So pleased my extra money goes as OP or would be totally as opposed to very gutted
rubbish day at work, felt like walking through treacle, phone never stopped ringing, to the point were people emailing me to say my phone was constantly engaged! had eaten my sandwiches by 11 for a boost, in 7 till 7.30 but last 2 hours seem to really plough through my to do list and clear a few big jobs.
