Just back from mini break with Dave in Liverpool to celebrate 20th Anniv. Was lovely.. the thrifty side of me booked the hotel through Amazon, had groupon for afternoon tea, sight seeing bus and meal out. We also booked online parking for the whole visit.

Great news about the award, that's brilliant!

I think a 10 mile run is a really good distance, it's a lot more comfortable than a HM. New car sounds fab although it sounds liken your old one was also full of memories :)

You do really well on groupon, it's something I only remember to check very infrequently, I.e when we wanted to go bowling but I couldn't find a deal! I think I did have email alerts but never followed the links. I am going to start checking it more and see if I can nab a few deals.

I haven't even started Christmas shopping, am soooo behind this year!

Thanks CathT and SMS. Ran 10 today and is still hard... Still loving my new car, such a joy to drive.

SMS. I was thinking today as I was running, that I used to feel my (sorry if squeamish) my fat wobble as I ran and used to think.. "hope its wobbling away" type thoughts rather than I'm so fat I shouldn't run. I don't know when those thoughts went but definitely no longer feels wobbly.. At my heaviest I was upping the classes and was very conscious on my inability to run, but I still think running hit early, maybe size 16-18. I was talking to an old class mate who I bumped into last week at gym, whose lost 7 stone and was talking about running, that I genuinely couldn't run a minute to start with, I didn't build up in miles, it was literally minutes.. seconds. When I started back running when I wasn't well, I have no doubt took longer to put my trainers and gear on than I was actually outside for.. But hey who cares?
There was a fab article in Womens running this month about running regardless of size. I think it made all the difference with my weight loss and hope it keeps it off for me.

CathT - I am currently a groupon addict... I should go to a group to confess. Afternoon teas, skiing lessons, days out... I like to think it gives us days out we wouldn't consider but suspect its a secret spending habit.

I like Groupon - but never find masses on there which I'd use - having bought a few at the start of when we found it which we never redeemed:o:o I'm careful to only pick things I know we'll enjoy - I should perhaps use it to try new stuff too! :) I do always get cashback through tcb for any purchases though - makes it just a bit more of a bargain :D

I especially look for new things to try with our dd's. Have bought a few items, like the bean bag chair for dd1. Have done as gifts too, tea out for my parents anniversary.

I currently keep my eye on amazon for bargains too, saving stuff and watching for a few weeks as their prices really do raise and fall dramatically.

I got annoyed with the amount of emails that Groupon sent me (I also dislike the fact that you don't appear to be able to view local offers *unless* you sign up!

Belated congrats on the HM Helen. I will need to get my running shoes out or you will overtake my PB soon ;)

I've started to look on Amazon as well. So far the only real success I've had is a bulk buy of Mr Goldie's shaving gel, but I'll start watching things now - thanks for the idea!
