Why don't you have a smile to accompany this? I am really starting to feel left behind on the mortgage free journey but am looking forward to getting one down to this level...whenever that may be!

Was very pleased tbh, huge milestone. Biggest plus is now I'm saving now so can see my pot growing nicely. In some respects seems to have taken ages, in others its flying by. Literally 1 year left of count down.

    Thanks both.

LOnggg day at work, ward was closed and big clean today, so exhausted. Been Cleaning and moving furniture etc all day.

Ran 11.35mile yesterday but fell over, tripped on a kerb. Was half way through run so picked self up, and carried on running with a dripping elbow. Now feeling very sore, as nasty graze to elbow as well as a few minor grades elsewhere.

    Was googling weight regain last night after reading something in running magazine. It seems that after losing weight, the first year thereafter you have a 58% chance of gaining the whole lot back again, after a year you odds of keeping off vastly increase but only 10% are able to keep off for 5 years. I've kept a real close control and am very aware it's as hard to keep off as lose. Apparently the biggest factors to keep it off is ;
    Eat breakfast everyday
Burn 2,600 in exercise calories a week
Maintain healthy eating through out the week, so not strict in week then relax at weekends type techniques
To enjoy the food you do eat
Weigh self regularly, so if do start to gain, able to rectify quickly
I do hit all these anyway and the only thing I miss is mindless eating, tucking into something without a thought, yet kind of compensated that when I do eat, I savour and enjoy more.

Doing the late today. So chores this am.

Re weight loss, I also think that eating the right things is a must. Diet and low fat/no fat foods and drinks are often worse for you. I went to see someone a few months ago as I didn't have enough energy for the exercise I was doing and was constantly hungry but I wanted to make sure I was eating more of the right things. It turned out I was under eating by about 800 calories a day. Making sure you eat the right things will keep you fuller for longer and help you avoid the temptation to snack on the closest thing at hand because you are hungry. Different things work for everybody though, making sure you vary the exercise you do and the intensity will help your body to not get used to what you are doing and then it will process the food better.

  • Thanks AJ, All the changes I made, were changes for good, but still feel nervous that will put it back on. I suppose that anxiety will help keep it off. Still log EVERYTHING I eat every day, with a if it touches my lips it gets logged mantra.

DD1 first day at college and went well. Youngest 2 back at school tomorrow.
Tuesday bought some Number 7 make up from Boots, ordered through TCB, spent £16.95 (lipstick and eyeshadow) but got the free anniversary gift which included foundation, eyeshadow and mascara and a voucher for £9.95 colour match lipstick. I was well pleased. Dd1 was as she got the voucher and now has new lipstick

Also did a massive FFoods shop, with my £100 spend £10 off voucher, my whole boot was crammed and I have a BIG boot.

Car MOT booked for next week. Did car insurance tonight. Saved over £50 as they matched my comparison. (from their original renewal price)

Spent nearly £70 on dd2 swimming lessons reenrol though.. I don't mind though as it keeps her doing some form of exercise. Nipped to gym and we had a tredmill run whilst shes in. Did a nice 6.2mph for 60 mins, was dripping though ... (sorry not pleasant).

You have reminded me I need to book DH car mot as due end of the month and I like to be prepared as it usually fails!

Ouch at the fall Helen, bet you're a bit bruised. Great distance though!

I currently pay £50 a month for swimming lessons. For that price I could have a gym membership and so could the children so they could swim there! Might reassess how DS is getting on after Christmas! These hobbies are expensive aren't they.
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!
  • When my kids were little I just seemed to be a taxi service every day to one club/lesson or other. Now they just do a couple of things its much better.

Ouch on the fall but well done on carrying on. I am in awe of your running achievements and weightloss, its inspiring xx

  • Keep losing post, grrrrr..

DD2 swimming lessons gives us discounted gym membership, so not to bad. Music lessons though come in at £200 a month. Which was brutal when we were renovating and absolutely broke. At times, it was a tough call.

Yes, ND. its almost full time post taxi'ing.
Still feeling mardy about my very swollen, bruised /scabbed arm. My knees black as well but doesn't hurt.

Quite fancy doing marathon next year. Has always been on my bucket list. Just need to convince Dave and decide for definite. Still not sure.

  • CQC coming soon, so the new rule is I have to check the cleaning everyday. Spending my first 20 minutes checking underneath commodes and toilet seats is such fun... Hey Ho. As I've got older, I have developed the philosophy of pick your battles and I am here for X hours, if they want me to do "X" then I will, but I can only fit into a day what I can, so some other thing has to give.

Home late so nice twilight run with Dave. Nice download and feeling ready for the weekend.

  • 12 1/4 mile run, took 2 hours 17. Going to do a 13.1 next week.
Just so tired after, which is frustrating. Chores done.
Made a mushroom and chicken risotto for tea.
Sunday night is movie night, so pjs will be on shortly.

Busy day off. Car failed MOT, will cost about £200 and still at garage, I don't think that's too bad tbh, could be a lot worse. Took a cat to have boosters, failed to find Tigs so will have to return, big boy not sue yet, so 50% fail. Did about 6 loads of washing, including all the bedding, as lovely day and thought get it all done. Took mum out for an afternoon groupon tea, which was lovely. Also went shopping to design outlet as she wanted a new top, and accidentally bought a dress which I didn't need or want, but caught my eye, feels gorgeous on and was £19 reduced from £100. Also bought a lovely cat wine holder for next door neighbours birthday tomorrow.

Just back from Friday night run. 63 mins so average time. Feel like ive got a cold coming which if coming, needs to be quick as 2 weeks on sunday HM..

DD1 thinking of changing one of her a level's, had long chat and she seems to have now made the decision to swap. She loves the subject but not the class or the teacher, which is a shame. Apart from that, she's loving it, made loads of friends and her other 2 classes are great.

Starting to ramp up my car search (swapping Dave's little car, then I'll drive it and 'spare' car will be my old bigger one), next pay day I think I'll be upgrading. Can't wait. Then when dd1 starts to want it, next year, she can use the newer small one and by that time will be able to afford to get rid of my old one for another medium sized one. WE live in a rural area and he can't use his work van for personal use so we need a spare one else he'd be unable to go anywhere if I was out.
