A half marathon would be an ideal challenge for you Helen, you've definitely got the determination and it's a distance event that you can train for while still retaining a bit of a life. A full marathon sounds too much like an all-consuming obsession, I think the half is a great balance.

Be prepared to spend money on a good pair of running shoes, as you will wear them out. That said, you probably wear out all kinds of sports clothes these days :)

Thanks Ed, I'm really enjoying the early morning runs, was out this morning and did 5 1/2 miles which was hilly so quite tough. I like the idea of increasing over time. I run without music as I is really enjoy the quiet and feels a good think time at the moment. I have read up, and plan to do a treadmill run on Tuesday (when girls at music), the treadmill being a faster pace, have been doing 4Mile in 40 minutes, then an ouyside long run Saturdays and a outside short on Sundays, but dependant on what we have on at home / work. Currently today's is my longest, with my short run will be 3mile. I have bought some nice addidas running shoes which are great, also wore my running jacket and gloves today (from aldi). It was misty and so nice. What more can I say..

Still doing classes, mon, Wed, Thu.

Just had our 2nd ski lesson. Now completed level 3, was brilliant. Next week scuppered as dd1 out, so missing a week before we do level 4. I have booked another 3 for after as groupon deal back on, and its been a really nice family day out and works out as £145 for 3x 90min lesson for all of us.
Very tiring and now starving, actifry chips with fish for tea cooking.
Sounds cheesy but the skiing lessons completely sums up why I needed to lose the weight, as it makes this possible. As a family, we are doing things that are fun and active.

    Impressive run Helen.

Sigs have been odd. Read on goldiegirls diary to edit slightly and save and it will go back to normal.

The team have been trying to get rid of a rather prolific spammer and it has gone a bit pear shaped. It has mostly affected signatures (just save again) but some posts have been affected too & that makes very interesting reading. The letters that are left are correct so a little (well a lot actually) of translation can be required. It'll keep us all out of mischief for a while!
  • Thanks, will add in my extra 2lbs lost and hopefully will sort. Xx

    Worked! Thanks.

Not sure how to add weight loss now as goal was 4, with a would be fantastic if Goal 4 stone 7, be now goal purely to keep me on straight and narrow.. although 1lb more will take me to 1/3 of body weight and another 3 would take me to 5 stone....
