Following on from a conversation elsewhere.....
120K-ish 3 bed properties with access to a garden, within a 1 hour drive of:
York, Chester, Solihull, Shrewsbury, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Oxford or anywhere in the South.
Possible or not?

The trouble is defining an hour...... but, let's say it's 30 miles. There are over 500 within 30 miles of Cambridge. Reduce it to 10 miles and there's 0. At 15 miles there's about 8.... and they're not great areas.
There are 0 houses within 15 miles of where I am now that meet the criteria, There are 5 that are 20 miles from me (in another county).0 -
In York itself, but I'm guessing there's better to be had within an hour of York.

I suppose one hour depends on the local transport links. 30 miles would be safe almost anywhere. If it's near a good dual carriageway/motorway in Scotland or even the North of England, it could be 50-60 miles.
