I lived in Abbey Wood for a few years. It's OK unless you are a total Hooray Henry wimp I suppose.

Do you consider the type of people that do buy and live in such areas as sub human?

no, not sub-human. i presume they either (i) are mad, or (i) have no choice.

OK it's not Hampstead, but I would rather own in Abbey Wood than rent in a more upmarket area.
  • This thread is hilarious.
We get page after page of decent affordable properties within commutable distance of various cities and now the whiners come up with stuff like "but but but... no space to store a kayak" or "it doesn't have a garage so you can't start your micro-business easily!" :rotfl:

I bet you've got at least 3 kayaks/surf boards and wet suits hanging in your garage.... while your workshop is awash with ongoing projects and plans for your new business....

Why would you say that? I'm not at all into water sports...

Or just Ooooh, I simply could not live in a downmarket area like that.

It does appear that chewmylegoff is actually Paris Hilton.

That's a damned lie and you know it! You even have an avatar that clearly has you showing off, water-skiing without a board, fully dressed, holding onto the line from the motor boat.

percy's business is a BTL Landlord exterminator service known as "Landlordbusters". with 3 of his friends, he provides an on demand service, capturing BTL Landlords in a sophisicated nuclear powered containment device. it doesn't make much money, but there is a lot of job satisfaction.

experts are divided on whether it is likely that a legal action bought by hamish will result in percy's BTL landlord containment facility being turned off and all the BTL landlords released en masse causing an unprecedented house price boom round your way. reports that a giant marshmallow is involved are unconfirmed.

Thank you for explaining it for me, i may start to charge them rent for using my containment facility, that way I could make more facilities, then once I have them all I can up rents 10% a month.

not really. i've just spent time living in places like elephant and castle, oval and eltham and, knowing what it is like, i'd rather not go back now that i can afford to live somewhere better which doesn't have the same problems.

on the same vein, i would much rather rent in a better place than own a property in one of those worse places (as i have previously done).

i doubt you would want to, out of choice, live in the 3 bedder you posted up, at any stage in your life. if it was the only place i could afford to live in in the world, i would live there; however, i would never even think about buying it and i suspect the only person who would is someone who was planning to rent it out and not live there.

i think the accepted quid pro pro is that once they all get released, and havoc ensues, you agree to come back and fix the problem in return for the state dropping all pending criminal charges against you.

    or was that landlordbusters II?
