Ok I'm at the stage of working out new revised budget and what it means to the creditors I owe and how quickly I can start making a hole in some balances...

SOA looks like it has lots of stuff missing... so explanations needed.

No electric (DS1 and DS2 in charge of feeding the meter in lieu of board and lodgings
No Gas or other utility bills
landline fone disconnected as I don't work from home anymore and don't need it
mobile bills paid 4.5 months in front (or rather I have so much credit on my account now I am not paying for mobiles for sons/ ex and his daughter than I don't have to pay anything for the foreseeable future.)
Internet - changed from a business line back to a home connection and have just short of 5 months credit in my account... don't need the guaranteed upload/ download speed now I'm not working from home.
clothes/ haircuts etc. - no spend for as long as I can remember so going to be minimal moving forward..

so according to the number cruncher I should have a big fat 800 left each month after all the essentials have been paid .... which means I could be totally debt free in 27 months or what makes more sense to me is for pay it back at a more leisurely 500 pm which will make a dent and at the same time give me and my kids a bit of a life.

I am also going to start trying to negotiate some Full and final offers on the cards that got the defaults earliest of all as they are likely to be more receptive - going to use the template letters off here... all moving along nicely (and long may it continue)

well I've finished early for the weekend as I hit target which is great (and will be even better when extra £ from commission hit my pay packet!). I'm not working any figures out to include commission as its not guaranteed but it will come in handy to use it as a buffer zone.

I've spoken with Capital One regarding my larger card I still have with them and offered a settlement figure of £300 (cheeky I know but I had to start somewhere..) anyway they have countered with £375 which I think is a major result - I'm waiting for the confirmation in writing and I've got 30 days to make payment... looks like I should have another creditor to mark of the list :D

I've started to hit target at work - well I've hit it 4 days out of 6 that I've actively been selling and targeted... so decision time do I do revised offers to everyone again with my basic plus commission or do I just stick with the basic scenario and use the extra as a cushion or to build up for some more f&f?

I swing back and forth between the 2 scenarios at the moment..

I think I would stick with the basic scenario for a wee while, Build up a safety cushion for F&F/ Emergency fund. Just until you can establish the pattern that you will hit targets every week.

But then again, Im a cautious soul ....

    hi

I wouldn't factor in any commission, I never did when I used to get it, you can either overpay or save or for full and finals or emergency funds... If you budget it in then one month don't hit commission for some reason it can be a catastrophe ! Your doing great :) :money:

ok work on my basic budget - makes sense to me and yes it gives me a chance to work out if this month is an anomaly.. hope not but stranger things have happened.

going to build up an emergency fund then set aside some for f&f..

will review again in 4 months

When i first starting earning commission I banked half and had the other half to spend. Could you have half to debts and half to emergency fund ?
