I did nothing to upset her or against the rules. Infact I was just taking calls. She called a team meeting then took me to the office to give me a file note for conduct over the last 24 hours.

Its so annoying :( but happy Waiting for the boyfriend to get out of bath so we can watch a movie

Does the file note say what you are supposed to have done wrong?

  • So long as you are both working the way you should be and nothing to do with the business is being compromised then I see no issue here and its not acceptable for your boss to make comments on your clothing or what you do in your spare time. If your boyfriend was your line manager that would be different, but he doenst even normally work on your site does he. Just carry on as normal. She is probably on a power trip. Bit weird that she would turn up at the hotel though.........
  • Turning up at the hotel- well surely she should be fired for gross misconduct!
  • He works at a site over 200 miles away and comes down here every few months on business.

The file note says "Unacceptable conduct with a colleague" then goes on to say I must remember to treat senior colleagues with respect. HR said they will investigate.

I'm not even discussing us in work nor are we doing anything in work. My boyfriend did ask if our systems were running slow but he asked everyone on our team.
  • The fact that he isnt usually working there and isnt your manager is the point that makes me questions why your manager is so interested. So long as nothing has happended at work then I dont see an issue. Does he have access to stuff he could tell you, that she wouldnt want to know for example ? If not its probably just jealousy. If you have an HR is your company quite big ? It would be unsual for them not to have a policy about work relationships. I would investigate it further.
  • I've been up front to HR about our relationship. The policy is they are permitted as long as we aint in one of the offices smooching. Thats what the HR woman said to me.

As for my boyfriend telling me information. He told me about the new keyboard he got at work one of these snazzy funny shaped ones. He took 5 hours (and he shown me pictures of it!!) to tell me about. Does that count? haha, we don't talk about work. I find it boring talking about the place.

What is disrespectful or unacceptable about sitting in a bar with your boyfriend in non work clothing out of work time?? She clearly has issues with her own personal life!! She really ought to look up the dictionary definition of respect

    "respect
    n
    1. an attitude of deference, admiration, or esteem; regard
    2. the state of being honoured or esteemed
    3. a detail, point, or characteristic; particular he differs in some respects from his son
    4. reference or relation (esp in the phrases in respect of, with respect to)
    5. polite or kind regard; consideration respect for people's feelings
    6. (often plural) an expression of esteem or regard (esp in the phrase pay one's respects)

    vb (tr)
    1. to have an attitude of esteem towards; show or have respect for to respect one's elders
    2. to pay proper attention to; not violate to respect Swiss neutrality
    3. to show consideration for; treat courteously or kindly
    4. Archaic to concern or refer to
    "

If she knows there is no policy against you dating, you have been honest from the start and your 'conduct' was out of work then that is an abuse of her position and she should be reprimanded for it. I would push for a written retraction once the investigation is over.

  • Went over to Bristol today, was such a nice relaxing day :) Feel so happy :)
  • Hate to say this, and hope I'm wrong but I'm getting that under the bridge feeling here.

It's like a sit com; something really really good or really really bad always seems to happen once people sign up on here.

    Amazeballs.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

    The woman is mental !!

She cannot discipline you for something that happens outside of work anyway (not in the context she has) and your boyfriend has every right to raise a grievence about her harassment of you both and her inappropriate behaviour as well as you raising one for her disciplining for the reasons she has.

I have a horrible feeling we may work for the same company as we have a call centre in Cardiff too.

I suspect if your BF has gone to HR already it should be the end of the matter-she'd be nuts to push it any further. Just keep your head down at work and don't give her any excuses for revenge .
