Savings accounts deposits by Direct Debit?

It seems that Santander are no longer allowing you to set up a funding mandate.
I accidently deleted my dd from Halifax to Santander and they won't let me do another one.
I have set up another DD to my second Tesco account this means that both my DD from the Halifax are going to 2 different Tesco savings accounts, will this work for the £5 reward?
If not I only have a Paypal account that I can set up a DD on. How tricky is this to do? Could someone please point me in the right direction.
Many thanks

Easy to do. Log on to Paypal. Look for "Update" against bank details. Click a button to add an account. It just needs sort code and account number. Paypal will send a penny by faster payment to your bank. There will be a 4-digit code with this payment. Enter the code in Paypal and you're done.
It will take a few days for the DD to appear on your Halifax account.
BUT - if Halifax needs the DD to be used every month, you'll have to make a paypal payment every month.0 -

Are you sure they won't let you set up another?
I've just logged on to Santander and clicked Payments/Pull money in from an external account. It still says:This service allows you to make occasional deposits from a bank account (including external accounts) into your Santander account. The service is only available if you have nominated a bank account from which to pull the money. To obtain a form to nominate an account, please call our Telephone Banking Service on 0845 600 4388.
You might have to pull in the payments manually rather than automatically, but it will still be seen as a DD at Halifax.0 -

Thanks I've just had a good look at this and can't see how I can get it to work.
At one time there was a downloadable form that could be filled in and sent to Santander to set up a Direct Debit. The link to the form in the first post no longer works.
I will try the Paypal option, I think. Is there any charge for adding funds to Paypal?
thanks

I have tried to set up a direct debit from my Halifax account to my Paypal account. I'm not having much luck.
I have followed the onscreen instructions on Paypal sie and have moved money across but it is not showing as a DD in my Halifax account.... it's showing as .. FPO
What have I done wrong and how can I put it right please?

The Santander savings direct debit form is still available here:

where it mentions direct debit as a way of paying money into a savings account.
The form still has fields for amount and frequency so hopefully no manual pulling needed.0 -

Hi all
my santander esaver account has matured, which is fine as only using it for the DD for halifax, however have noted the account has changed name in the last couple of days to everyday saver, has this one happened to any one else and did they continue to claim the DD after? (as i thought the esaver account was the only one you could set up a DD on?)
well they have still been taking the DD for this account since i posted the above, so all well with that. However, am now hoping that they will still accept the forms to add other on as well in meantime so that i can use that for new lloyds account. The website states that they can have three, so fingers crossed they will still allow a new one even though they have now titled my account and everyday saver instead)
if not and they say cannot set up a new dd mandate once it has matured from a esaver, and only have existing ones may look to open a new esaver as well.MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0
