Sometimes it's easy to forget that ex's become ex's for a reason, and the reason why they became an ex, in the first place? ( unless you're kate and w's, that is.)Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Thanks ladies for the advice! He's an ex from university - donkey's years ago. We've always remained friends though - have just decided to go for it and see what happens - not bothered about having a boyfriend at the moment so nothing lost if it doesn't work out. We've arranged to meet next weekend so have over a week to dwell on it!:rotfl:(He was fit though
and has sent a recent photo and hasn't aged badly!)
Weighed this morning and have lost another lb.:j Thats 25 gone altogether now and just 1 lb away from my 9 and a half stone goal.
At least I'll feel fairly confident about myself. The drama of what to wear will come next:p
Right I'm starving so should go and scoff something......0 -

Well what a bonkers week! I literally haven't stopped! Open evenings, after school lessons, meetings - its been mad. But its Friday night and I can finally have a rest.
The big "date" is temporarily postponed - his dad has been taken into hospital and it sounds quite serious so its understandbly been put off for now - he was very apologetic though.
So that means a nice quiet weekend after the hectic week. I did have a hair appt booked for tomorrow but have cancelled it as it was only a wash and blow dry. Not sure what I'll get up to instead yet - will see what tomorrow brings. The usual chores of food shopping, cleaning and library etc will take up the morning but I'll try to find something to amuse myself for the rest of the day.
I got paid yesterday and so also need to work out a budget for this month taking into account I should start the Xmas shopping:eek:. Will maybe sit down and start that this evening with a glass of wine.
Right, the rugby is on tv so I'm off to watch it........0 -
Forgot to add.......
I've only blo*dy done it!!! Got to my target of 9 and a half stone:j:j:j
1lb off this week so I'm officially there:)
The scale actually wavered at 2 lbs off but finally settled at 1lb off - this happened 3 times so I'm happy its a true reading.
To celebrate I'm having a pizza and a glass of wine:o
Will be good tomorrow .....0 -
Just a quick update whle I'm thinking about it.....
It was payday on Thursday so I've done the usual money shuffle - some into savings, some to the CC bill etc
Put £40 of petrol in today and did the "big shop" this morning - £42 but I did use £5.50 worth of Mr T vouchers so it could have been worse. Needed all those irritating things like fabric conditioner, toilet roll, cleaning stuff and dog food in addition to real food.
I bought a present for my sister last night from Amazon to go with her Kindle - bargain at £6.:) I found a box of Xmas cards in the cupboard that I'd obviously bought in the sales and forgotten about and a few rolls of wrapping paper so that sort of thing doesn't need buying this year at least.
Managed to get the library books back on time and picked up a few more - am really saving a fortune using the library instead of buying books, must have spent £100s a year on books:o
Posted an underwear set back to M&S using freepost label this morning - it didn't look at all like it did on the web - would have made me look like a, ahem, "lady of the night"!:rotfl:
I did pick up another one from the local M&S though - cheaper and much more me.;)
Have decided to have a go at maintaining my new weight using the Myfitnesspal advice - upping my cals to 1720 and will see how that goes. I still need to keep an eye on what I eat as I'm likely to just go bonkers now I'm "not on a diet" and eat anything and everything and end up at square one again.
The 100km challenge is also going quite well - up to 58km now and will do a couple more with the dog in a hour or so.
Just cleaned the whole house so that must have burned off a few cals - hopefully the M&S mince pie I succumbed to has now miraculously disappeared.:o0 -
Am taking myself in hand again today and the celebrations of the weightloss are now officially over!
Walked the dog and been for a 1 mile swim this morning so far and will take the woofer to a nature reserve for an hour later. Will deserve my M&S mince pie then!
I'm off on a spa weekend on Saturday with 25 other women for my friends 40th birthday. Having a manicure, massage and facial and have use of the pool, gym etc for the weekend. We're staying overnight and have a nice meal and drinks booked. Its all already paid for so only need a bit of spending money for drinks.
So will be seen in bathing suit by lots of people so need to stay good this week!0 -
Just a thought - what to do diet wise over Xmas?
I'm thinking about being good on all other days apart from "event" days - Xmas do (14th Dec), birthday (22nd Dec) and Xmas Day and Boxing Day (staying with mum so no choice, will be force fed). I'm toying with taking my running stuff to Wales for Xmas with me to have a litte jog out to avoid food for a short while at least and limit the damage. The dogs are also a bit of a godsend - can take them out for a good walk when family start to get on my wick!
All a good plan....can I do it?
As I'm going to mum's instead of them coming to my house I don't need to buy a houseful of goodies as usual - literally bags full of sweets and chocolate, cheeses, nuts, desserts - the list is endless... The leftovers are usually massive too - at least I won't have that to contend with this time.
This year I'm going to buy one smallish box of chocs and a bag of my favourite sweets and thats it - no more! Think of the money I'll save!0 -
That's what I did last year and will do this year, having said that me and my mum and brother aren't massive eaters with loads of sweets, cheese, nuts and choccies which is good for all of us.
As for the December fitness challenge - I would like to take part to get my fitness back up again after this horrible virus that's sidelined me for 6 weeks with no exercise - the longest now in 18mths! Still need to a couple of weeks to get back to normal as have now started with a cold!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550
