Finally having sit down....
Have managed to walk the dog twice, cook some tea, whizz round Tescos, unpack the shopping, have a bath, hoover the whole house, clean the kitchen, done the washing and packed a bag for the morning. Pooped now!
The shopping came to £28 - probably could have been a bit less but I virtually ran around the shop like supermarket sweep throwing things in the trolley because I was in such a rush.:p
Will watch a bit of telly and have an early night, have to be up no later than 6am:eek: On a Saturday:eek::eek:0 -
Don't be too hard on yourself - some weeks are just like the last one for me too and I cave in to too many treats. I have half a chocolate birthday cake in the kitchen I'm trying hard to portion up and give some away too!
you sound like your weight loss has gone exceptionally well. My weight loss came off very slowly indeed and its normal to maintain for a few weeks instead of losing each week. As for me, I'm trying hard to maintain. Not sure if I have as I'm using a different set of scales at work than before and I weighed half a stone heavier - oh dear!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Sparkles - your clothes would tell you if you were half a stone heavier - I'm sure its the scales!
I'm shattered after a really hard weekend driving to and from Wales to the family (4ish hours each way this time), scrubbing the rented out house (tenants really had left it literally like a tip) and generally cheering up mum.
Got back mid afternoon and took the dog to the waterpark for some fresh air and exercise for us both. Am pooped now!
Mum insisted on giving me £40 towards the petrol - very welcome! Just checked the bank and if I stick to the budget until next Monday (payday) I'll have managed to pay the small OD off and a chunk towards the CC and put some into savings. That means that on the next payday I'll have all of my new higher salary to divvy up between savings, the CC and day to day living.
Some good news, I've organised some revision sessions for students during half term and I get paid extra for doing them - will be about another £200 after tax for 2 mornings work.:j
Its half term in 3 weeks time so I'll get paid for them in November with a bit of luck.
There's £45 in my purse and I need that to last until at least next Monday - so spending money and food shopping will have to come from that. I hopefully won't need to shop until next weekend so its definitely doable.
No big plans for the week yet but will have a look at the Spice activities and the meetup groups to find a few social things to do that don't revolve around work.
Off for a flop on the sofa before tea....0 -
Just booked a load of things to do over the next month or two - lots of walks (from 4 to 11 miles:eek:), a ghost walk, a theatre trip, a visit to a mosque, a halloween flim night and two morning sunrise walks on the solstice weekend near Xmas.
The most expensive was £8 and lots of the walks were only £1 (plus petrol to get there) so none will break the bank.
Made lunch for tomorrow and have clothes ready so all ready to settle down and watch Homeland.:)0 -
Its been a madly busy week at work so far, good job its half term in 2 weeks time! Been doing lots of work at home too so feel like I haven't had any time to myself lately.
Not much else to report really, just been working, dog walking and sleeping. Moneywise, still on course to last to payday on Monday.
Going to the mosque visit tomorrow evening, quite looking forward to it should be interesting, broadening my horizons and all that. I'm not in the slightest bit religious but think its good to learn about new things.
Roll on the weekend......0 -
The mosque visit was really good - very interesting and the people there were really welcoming and open. Learnt a lot and glad I went. Was very tired today though after a very long week.
This weekend its me time. I'm taking the dog on an organised walk tomorrow morning - will do us good to get out and about and meet new people. Hope the weather holds out.
Other than that I have no big plans for the weekend and am looking forward to a bit of a rest.
A little bit of good financial news - the water bill came today and the direct debit is going down by £12 a month from this month. I don't really know why, I don't think I've changed my useage but I'm not complaining!
Also got my pay slip today but don't get paid until Monday. Why do they tease you with it and not give you the money:mad:
I'll do a budget over the weekend as I now know exactly what I'm getting and will hopefully be able to put a nice little wodge into savings.
Another small bit of good news - I've lost another 1lb:j Thats 23 all together and just 3 lbs to go to my target of 9.5 stone now. I'll have to do some proper exercise this weekend too - no excuses to hide behind. Dogwalking is ok but doesn't get you out of breath and burn many cals.
Just having a little glass of wine - the first in months - and will walk the dog again in a minute before I have a bath and a relaxing evening.
Football on instead of Corrie though:mad:0 -
I'm back!
Been missing in action for a while - first the work situation went mental and I had absolutely no time for anythimg else. Then the broadband and landline died and I was without internet access for days on end.
Bits and pieces to report....
I unexpectedly got a tax refund for £550:j - quite a windfall for me. I've been sensible and spent £100 on new jeans, a couple of new tops and getting my only really expensive item of jewellery fixed (my Lacroix watch - it only needed a new battery but as its a good one it costs extra to replace and reseal). The rest has been put to good use - £60 on a well-needed haircut and colour tomorrow, £250 in savings towards paying the rest of the sofa bill due in December, and £100 to pay for the spa weekend in November with girlfriends.
Paid the Next account off and put a bit towards the CC too - so I can justify all of it for once, usually extra money disappears into the ether.
Work has finally come to an end for a week - its now half term - hurrah! This week has been the busiest ever - I literally haven't stopped and am shattered. Need a rest and a recharge.
I'm doing two mornings of revision classes next week but will get paid extra for them - almost £200 after tax which I'll get in December's pay packet, just in time for Xmas.:)
Last month's salary was divided up and I managed to pay off a chunk of the CC (as well as the windfall payment), put £100 in savings and budget for the rest of the month to live well within my means. Its going well so far, fingers crossed for no unforeseen dramas.
I've lost track a bit of the grocery spends for the month but have just done a bit of a stocktake and only need a few bits and pieces for the week so will pop to Aldi tomorrow or Sunday to pick them up. Hopefully, it will only come to around a tenner or so.
So that's all the financial news more or less - will be back later with a few plans and updates.....0 -
Right, time for a fabbing update......
Been so busy and tired that the exercise has been almost abandoned for the past 2 weeks or so:o I have managed about an hour of walking a day with the dog but no hot and sweaty stuff. Did a big walk last weekend around a National Trust estate with the poocher and all the normal daily wanders but I need to get back into it pronto!
The good news is that I'm now just 2lbs away from my target of 9 and a half stone, however, this week I have stayed the same, no big surprise considering the rubbish I've scoffed. Back on the straight and narrow as of tomorrow.
I feel (and think I look) like I've had a hard couple of weeks - so a bit of intensive personal care is in order. Just had a bath and done a good defuzz and sorted my toenails and fingernails. I'm getting my hair done tomorrow and will wear some of my new clothes to make me feel a bit more presentable.
Will also do a face and body scrub in the shower in the morning and hopefully that will get me looking and feel a bit more polished. My eyebrows need sorting again too - not having them threaded, it was pure pain last time, will have to get them waxed next time.
Will also maybe pick up a few face masks tomorrow and slap one on in the evening. Lets see how long it takes me to look vaguely human again!;)0 -
Have just read through & you are doing amazingly well !
That's a lot of exercise ... Puts me to shame

Hello Coco! Nice to see you! (One of my previous dogs was called Coco so I'm fond of the name!)
Just back from the vets and am £55 worse off. The dog has an ear infection and needed syringing and an antibiotic injection. I've come away with a wash solution and ear drops to do too (and a worming tablet) - that will be fun with a dog that hides under the bed as soon as you get close with anything medical.:(
Had to put petrol in too - so thats another £20 gone:mad:
Off to get my hair done later - will feel better once its done. Then its home to do the cleaning and tidying and have a quiet evening in - can't afford any big nights out now the vet has robbed me!0
