Had a good time at the comedy night - 3 out of the 4 comedians were very good. I went mad and had a diet coke:rotfl:, at £1.30 it was very frugal for me. Also managed a free parking space so a cheap night out, especially as I talked myself out of a takeaway on the way home and settled for two value chocolate digestives when I got home, life in the fast lane:p.0

Same here! Went on a leaving do and had 2 bargain slimline tonics for 85p and 1 for £1.75 and £2 on parking so a very frugal night compared to how much some drinks cost. A nice night out and a lie in this morning after getting in quite late totally sober!
Jam making currently - looks a yummy colour!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
The jam sounds lovely Sparkles - you're much more of a domestic goddess than I am!
Been for a 5K run this morning and I've walked the dog twice for 25 and 20 mins, so plenty of exercise has today with one more short dog walk to do this evening.
Quite proud of myself, I put £10 in my pocket whilst walking the dog and managed to walk straight past the shops without spending a single penny:j That means its been a NSD.
I'm going to make a big pot of spag bol (with quorn mince) later which will be tea for tomorrow too. Monday is always a long day so something to just warm up will stop me eating rubbish when I get in. The only thing I had to buy was a jar of sauce (can't be doing with making my own) when doing the shopping yesterday, everything else was in the freezer or cupboards.
Will do a packed lunch for work tomorrow to whilst the the tea is cooking - managed to do one every day last week using stuff from home so saved quite a bit on school dinners. I get a free dinner on a Thursday for doing lunch hall duty (which I forgot about) so will take something that will keep this time in case I fancy what's on. School dinners are really quite nice now!
Going to have a bit of a relax this evening - done a few hours school work (writing reports for lazy boss) this afternoon so a bit of a flop on the sofa and watching a film after my busy weekend is well deserved I think!
No plans for the forthcoming week on the social front - so no excuse to not do some exercise on at least 2 week nights this week. I'm off to Wales next weekend for a family birthday (don't really want to go but family duty and all that...) so will hopefully do a bit of school work in the evenings so I don't have to worry about it next weekend.0 -
Back at work and had a few naughty jammy dodgers:mad: Have counted them in the cals though so not a total disaster.
Just back from the second after work dog walk - the first was a stroll around the park letting him sniff around and the second a very brisk 30 mins - it looked like rain so we whizzed round the streets accompanied by the Stone Roses on the ipod - have gone all Manc and Ian Brown like now!
Had the second half of my quorn spag bol for tea - only had to boil up the pasta and microwave the bol bit, so very quick and easy.
Will try to force myself to go swimming tomorrow after work - always enjoy it once I'm there but after a long day at work it takes a massive effort to go.
Have spent £5 today. Will need to stop popping into the corner shop.:mad:0 -
A good day at work except having to phone a parent who was less than easy to deal with:mad:
Forgot to take my breadsticks with me so couldn't eat my houmous - a self imposed diet!
Never mind, have just had some tea and am no longer ravenous.
Will make sure that I take a full lunch tomorrow:o
Just waiting for the clouds to blow over a bit and then will take the dog for his second evening walk - a brisk minimum of 30 mins, the sniffing wander round the park is already done.
There's nothing on the telly tonight - all football and rubbish. Will do a bit of work maybe after having a bath and getting stuff ready for tomorrow. Also need to try to find something to wear to this party on Saturday evening - don't want to buy anything so will try to cobble together an outfit from what I have.
Its Wednesday tomorrow and so half way through the week - time goes so quickly when I'm in work as I don't have a minute to pause.
Is anyone else cold? I think its freezing this week - still resisting putting the heating on, trying to hold out for October at least. A warm bath and a snuggle under a fleecy blanket on the sofa will have to do. Think of the gas bills........0 -
Just back from an hour long brisk dog walk to get some fresh air after a rubbish night's sleep, kept awake worrying that I'd made a mistake on exam entries. As it turned out there was no problem so a relief but I was still exhausted all day.
Walked the dog to a shop quite a long way away to get some of my favourite cereal bars that I have for breakfast that were better than half price. So a small spend of £2.30 (a couple of boxes) but good exercise and they'll last me for at least 2 weeks.
Good news - the washing machine is still working ok after its unexplained paddy! So glad as I really don't need the expense at the moment.
Paid £100 off the credit card today too, will see how the month goes and will maybe pay a little bit more off at the end of the month if there's anything spare.
I'm looking forward to a nice bath and a bit of telly after the soaps, just 2 more days to the weekend.0 -
Rubbish sleep again last night:mad: Woke up at 3am and couldn't go back.....
Oh well, I managed the day and came out the other end.
Little moneysaving victory for my mum today - I've been nagging her for weeks to change her car and house insurances rather than just renew them and she eventually gave in and rang around and saved literally hundreds of pounds! I should be on commission!
Have just been looking at dresses online for the do on Saturday but have convinced myself that I don't need one. Will have to make do with what I have.
Nearly had a NSD - spent £2.50 on pop for work, but did go to B&M for them where the cans are 25p each rather than 70p in the corner shop.
Last day at work tomorrow - hurrah! Been a long week......0 -
Drum roll ......... I'm now one and a half stone lighter!:j:j:j Yes I've managed it - 21lbs off. I'm so pleased! The sneaky mid week weigh in was correct and today's was exactly the same so its official!:T
I now look like I've lost weight too - much thinner hips, thighs (with improved cellulite, not gone altogether though) and waist. You can also see it in my arms (no bingo wings now) and face.
Now all I have to do is decide whether to lose a little bit more or to try to maintain this weight. I've gone from 11 st 5 to 9 st 12. I have a mid range healthy BMI and feel sooo much better about myself. I'm toying with trying to get to 9 and a half stone - a weight I haven't been since school! I'm now 40:rotfl:
Whatever happens, I'm having an evening off diets and exercise to celebrate, have already had a wodge of bombay mix!
On the moneysaving front, I've managed a full week of taking packed lunches to work and have eaten all of my meals at home using up things in the fridge and cupboards, no extras bought this week.
Just taken £30 out of the cashpoint for the spending money for the weekend and following week. I'll do my best to make it last.
I still have to find something to wear to the do tomorrow - not looked yet, I haven't bought anything new though.
Its freezing here now and I've relented and put the heating on for an hour to take the chill off the house. It goes off by itself after an hour so I can't forget to turn it off.
I also got in touch with a friend I haven't spoken to for ages and arranged a meet up next week - probably to walk our dogs, so nice and cheap.
Right, I'd better get some tea on before I start eating rubbish again.0 -
Well done ww, that's a great weight loss:beer:
I'm trying to resist putting the heating on here. Girls haven't moaned about feeling cold so I shall hold off until they do;) The thermostat says its 19deg in here so I think that's warm enough.
I've had packed lunches all week too - it's not hard though, as I don't have time in my 20m lunch break to go to a shop! Your monthly grocery spends are brilliant - even if it was just me I don't know if I could spend that little! Today's weekly shop was £60:o
Hope you enjoy the evening out tomorrow night.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hi Pixie!
A mixture of good news and bad ..... last night the dog got stung by a bee and was really quite poorly for a while. At the time I rang home and said I couldn't bring him to Wales for the party with me and so would have to stay home (was true at the time) and was told not to worry about it and that they hoped the dog was ok. He had an allergic reaction to the sting and was quite bad - whimpering, sleepy, sick, the runs ..... But the good news is he's fine now and completely back to normal and a happy poocher again. But the folks aren't expecting me and so I don't have to go - hurrah!
Been to the park with him and done the food shopping this morning - spent £27 including enough diet pepsi for the week for work, and dog food etc. The total spend is just under £95 for the month so far and the new budget month starts on Saturday. Very pleased with the spends - need to keep it up though.
Just about to take the dog for a good walk to make the most of the sunshine - the cleaning will still be there when I get back.;)0
