I've had the heating off today and yesterday as has been mild here for a change.
I'm making the hairy dieters meat and potato pies to have one tomorrow for tea and freeze the rest. Picked up stick of sprouts for £1 and a value pack of leeks x 6 for 1£1.34 - bargain! Plenty of F+V here too as I'll be doing a veggie curry on Sunday too

Right, I'm back at work on Monday and that's when real life begins again.
So to keep me on the straight and narrow I'm writing a set of goals for January - there's just about 4 weeks of it left so plenty of time to achieve something useful.
So here goes....
Health and Fitness
Lose 3-4 lbs from where I am now
Get up to running 8km
Swim at least once a week (makes my back feel so much better, just a bit niggly sometimes)
Keep up logging on MFP
Work
Mark controlled assessments when completed
Mark each set of books at least once so no more marathon sessions are needed
Start chemistry scheme of work
Update exam results spreadsheet
Prepare for observation lesson and get observed
Go on middle leaders course first session
Home
Get the wardrobe sorted out - far too much stuff and not enough space
Get a plumber to sort out the dripping toilet (have admitted defeat with this)
Finance
Save £300 of next month's wages (transfer as soon as I'm paid)
Put a little bit in each of the holiday and bedroom savings funds
Volunteer for extra tuition during half term (not until Feb but organised in Jan and its usually an extra £200)
Lifestyle
Read 4 books for fun and relaxation (almost finished the first one)
Go out and do something sociable at least three times
Make more effort at keeping in touch with friends0 -

Went swimming only to find the pool shut to the public:mad: Will have to do some other kind of exercise - maybe a bit of tae bo and a long dog walk.
Did the grocery shopping on the way back - spent £10.41 on lots of F&V. Not too bad.
I was watching daytime telly in the week and they were talking about volunteering. Had a look at a website that shows you what opportunities are available in your area and have applied to be an "e-befriender" for a deafblind person. All you need to do is send emails and keep in touch - kind of like a modern day penpal I suppose. Its designed to give a deafblind person some contact outside their normal circle and to develop their communication skills. Will only take 15 mins or so at a time and it could make a bit of a difference. I'm considering another "job" too - but will think about whether I can really commit to the time, don't want to let anyone down.
In case anyone is interested here's the website - www.do-it.org.uk
Lots of marking to do still so better crack on with that today.:eek:0 -
Hurrah - done one more carrier bag full of book marking.:j:jJust one more to go now......
Took the dog to the water park for a good walk in the sunshine and had to bath him afterwards - always a joy!
Cleaned the house (again!) and have had a nice long soak in the bath finishing my book - 1 down 3 to go this month!0 -
5km run done - found it quite hard going this mornng for some reason. Sometimes I suppose you're just not in the mood but I did it and feel better for it now.:)
The last of the marking to get done today - will be a major triumph when its all finally done.
Aiming for a NSD today - don't think I need anything so there's not really any need to spend money - that's never stopped me though:rotfl:0 -
hope you haven't got the back to school blues WW. I love teaching but Sundays always leave me a bit flat
Got to make my lunches, pack my bag, and do some marking so I'm ready for tomorrow.
Hope the marking fairies are on your side today. Here's to a stress free 5 weeks (well, a girl can dream)

Ta da!!!! Every single book for every child I teach (about 200:eek:) is now fully marked up to date! Hurrah!!!!:j:j:j
I deserve a great big Baileys tonight after that monumental effort!
It will be back to square one in a couple of weeks but at least I can feel virtuous for now.
I have felt a bit flat today Pavlov - think you're right, I have teacher Sundayitis:o.
Just done a couple of Mexican Potato bakes - one for tea tonight and one for the week and a portion of mash to have with something in the week. Sticking to the meal plan quite well lately - amazing what a lack of dosh can make you do!
Talking of which - had an NSD day today - more good news.:)
Started a new book last night - its very easy to read and I'm about a third of the way through already.0 -
So, I'm back at work and kn*ckered! The first few days back are always hard work - it will get better (I keep telling myself that anyway!).
Been good and stuck to the diet so far, been taking packed lunches and had a NSD yesterday making it 4 in Jan altogether now.
6 days to payday now - plodding on and trying to be good.
I'm having a homemade "ready" meal tonight, had one last night too - they're making life a lot easier after work. Its basically an extra portion of whatever I make for the freezer so I know exactly what's in it cal wise and with regards to ingredients - much better than ready made supermarket meals. Just need to keep it up now.
Looking forward to a nice long bath and a bit of a rest tonight after the last dog walk, my feet are killing me:)
Have also finished the second book of the month - on to no 3 in the bath later.0 -
What a week!
Its been exam results week so its meant 16 hour days with loads of number crunching and being nagged silly by staff and students
Its over now though and turned out to be a success in the end.
I'm looking forward to having a bit of a rest tomorrow and not doing any school work at all. Not sure what to do yet but I'll think of something.
Forgot to weigh this morning to see whether I've lost any weight - will do it in the morning. Haven't been too bad this week but I haven't had any time for extra exercise other than dog walking.
Have just written a shopping list for tomorrow and plan on doing a bit of batch cooking over the weekend so I don't have to do much in the way of cooking during the week - thinking a curry, some fajitas and spag bol.
I'm now up to 5 NSDs this month - good for me - and its payday on Tuesday, at last.:)0
