    Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly
    Emergency fund £1000/£1000
    Savings for big things £9017
  • Catch up part 2 before I need to start getting ready (going out tonight)

Skoobie Blackwork cats look great, love Imagine (it's one of my WiPs) - the colours used for lettering are more vivid than I thought they were going to be. You are doing amazingly well on your Angel - she looks lovely already. Thought you would like the Just Cross Stitch magazines :D I also love staying up late stitching while US crime dramas are on (CSI, Criminal Minds, Covert Affairs etc) but like you I can only do when I don't have to get up for work

FE Can't help with mobile queries as I get a phone with my job but I do have a MrT credit card which I use for buying petrol and groceries. The points pay for my RAC membership every year - I budget for this cost and when I used Clubcard vouchers instead of cash I use the money for a treat :) It really does feel like money for nothing as I haven't bought anything on the card I wouldn't normally do. And of course I pay it off in full each month like a good :money: should :D For other purchases I use a M&S card and use the vouchers for presents - very handy in a month like September which is full of family birthdays. I pay for almost everything using one or other of these 2 cards and find it helps with budgeting as I can easily see where the money has gone.

    elliep welcome back

pap Finished rose is exquisite and love the blue bird

beg amazed that this sort of mix up doesn't happen more often now there are lots of pics appearing (which I love) I can't wait for the flurry of pics when we have sent our Xmas cards

Maria I love your advent calendars (how could we not be interested??) Am thinking may do something like this for Christmas 2013 - would have to do 3 so no chance of completion for this year

Ruth honey Good news about the early date for the op even if it interferes with some of your plans. Best not to have too long to think about it in advance and the sooner it is done the sooner you will be free of the agony of the attacks
Thanks for the link to the Hobbycraft voucher I made vague plans to go but ending up working late so not possible. But then I am trying to be good and not spend much on stash

sweetcarer hope your back is recovering. It's so unfair that the what you get when a car is written off is much less than it is worth to you. Your auction win was a real bargain and didn't come across as gloating at all - we all love to see what others have added to their stash :D

chicky Hope you have found a suitable sewing book and some time to play with your new machine. And sorry about your difficulties with your OH

Ailsb Love your 10.11.12 - 11.12.13 piece Infant Jesus is an ideal substitution Love Charlie Bear You've probably already decided and stitched it but I would do Charlie's 1st Christmas 2012 at the bottom

leemina sorry can't help about magazines on the iPad. Those birth samplers are lovely

chicky- when I was in my local Aldi on Thursday they had some sewing books for £2.99. Might be worth you looking in there if you have one near to you.

Re-started another old kit of Tiger Lillies bought as a kit from a mag in 1998!!!!! Sorted out my stash of kits yesterday and I don't have nearly as many as I thought I had but so many in magazines too that I would just love to stitch. I now have about 5 things in progress so I can switch in between them to stop me getting bored.

    Have a great weekend everybody

Question: does anyone get cross stitch magazines on the ipad??? the mags are sooooo expensive here (Australia), anywhere from $14-17 here and I could get a 3mnth subscription for the price of one paperform one here. Just wanted reviews before i buy.

Which mag do you want? anything which uses Zinio is good - cross stitcher and cross stitch collection (although I have the pc reader rather than an ipad). If you can work out printing from ipad it's good (http://gb.zinio.com/browse/category/index.jsp?prnt=cat1960032&categoryId=cat2250032)

World of Cross stitching is via Itunes and I have never tried it :) x
  • If anyone else is interested in the Christmas Ornaments magazine Arts and Designs have it for £8.39 with free shipping. Their service is great - I ordered the Stitchers' 12 Days of Christmas last Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday :j It's a fabulous chart - thanks Chicky for posting it. I have decided it is going to be my 10 11 12 to 11 12 13 project
