 I've just spoken to my consultant and I've been offered a slot for my op on Tuesday! He said that's all they've got for AGES so I'd be advised to take it. Trouble is, I am supposed to be going to Gloucester on Wednesday, then on holiday for a few days on Friday. He said I'll be ok to travel, but I won't get out of hospital until Wednesday. It's gonna be a busy week!

Ooh, that is good news. At least you won't have time to worry about it. Just think about all the time you'll have to stitch whilst recuperating :)

I'm going back to clinic in December to discuss my reconstruction. Will need six weeks off after that. Serious stash-busting in that time :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm about 5 pages behind on this thread i just caught up the other night and now i can't remember anything :rotfl: I'll post last weeks BD update, i've made a start on my xmas card for the exchange so BD is taking a backseat for now. From what i read from others, i agree its strange not posting updates on our cards :D

    sorry - off-topic.

I sware hubby is trying to break us (money wise). He was off work all last weekend (3 out of 4 days unpaid).
Then has come home early tonight cause he's 'sick'. so am betting on him being off this weekend too.

HOW are we gonna pay bills next month if he only gets paid for 10 of 16 days work??. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

    sorry.

Maria = happy belated birthday, glad you got to spend your money on something you wanted/needed at Hobbycraft.

Ruth - great news on the op. I'm sure you will enjoy your holiday more than ever once the op is out of the way.

nmm - your piece is coming on well.

Sk00bie - sorry you have the lurgy and are felling rough. I am at the end of the second week now and swear I have a new cold as I felt worse than ever last night. Seems to be getting better one day then next I feel worse. Never mind, keep warm and remember you can stitch in bed.

Chicky - sorry things are tough for you at the moment. Don't really know what to suggest other than to say take care and sen you a virtual hug.

Well I stitched the Charlie's 1st Christmas and 2012 on Charloe Bear. Then outlined Charlie, didn't like it and have unpicked it, restitched it and unpicked it again. Now on my third attempt - argghh  feel like slinging it.

Been working on my Christmas exchange card tonight. Found some Madeira holographic threads & thought I'd try using those for part of the card. They're a nightmare to stitch with! Started using 2 strands, then decided it needed more coverage so unpicked some and used 3. All done with that section now-thank goodness! It does give it that festive sparkle, though. Feels strange not being able to post pics yet.

Thanks for all the messages about my op. I'll be packing some simple stitching to do while recovering. Something that won't take too much thinking.

Chicky-feed him beans on toast for a fortnight & tell him you can't afford any other food. Blooming men!
