Question re the Christmas Card Exchange - is there any rule re the size of the card or the content? Sorry to ask.
Re. size- I imagine not, and if we make huge cards it's our own cost to post it :rotfl:
Regarding content.....I have no issues whatsoever with anyone writing 'Happy Christmas' or suchlike so whoever is sending mine please don't feel you need to worry about PC-ness and put 'Happy Holidays' if it's not a phrase you use normally.Edit to add: Anything religious doesn't bother me either.

Have just cancelled my £1 for 3 issues subscription to Cross Stitch Card Shop and my £5 for 5 issues of WOXS and subscribed to Cross Stitch Gold for £1 for 3 issues. Thought is was worth doing for a £1. May resubscribe to WOXS next year, money depending.
My first copy of Cross Stitch Gold is the October edition due out 6th October. Off to google what's in it now, then off to take some clothes back for a refund.
Weather is miserable here, I've got the line over the bath full of washing so can't do any more untilt hat dries. Have tidied up downstairs and filed some bills so when I get back from shopping the order of the afternoon is cross stitching with a cuppa.
Louise - what a good idea saying you are happy for the card to say Happy Christmas. I don't have a problem with this wording either nor do I have a problem with religious content. Hope that helps someone.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Afternoon,
Completed Finishing Post last night at about 5 minutes to midnight! Just got to wash and press before taking to the framers now.
I'm split as to what to start next, ordered beads for Blackwork Angel (as all the gold beads I had in were wrong shade, and the beads match the gold thread used) so waiting for those to arrive or do I start something I've already got in the cupboard?
And blending filament is awful - my only UFO is a design which uses a lot of it!
Better get back to work, with being off last week there's bits of paper everywhere.0 -

Sorry I don't. I called to cancel WOXS and CSCard Shop and was offered other cross stitch mags at 3 for a £ the number I called was 01795414676. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the offer on fairy charts. She links purple (I think) but anything fairly small would be appreciated.
Really do have to get my a*** into gear now and go out or no stitching for me later. I waste so much time on the computer it's unrealCross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Now I can get back to some real stitching or a larger piece at least. I'd love to get on with 'Row of Love' but think I might need to grid the material out before I carry on. Just wondered if you lovely ladies could tell me the best way to do this - a pen or with sewn running stitch type grid to remove as I go or afterwards.
Hi peeps
Can anyone help me with the query I mentioned in my earlier post?

Suffering the Monday blues today but feeling a little bit better now that it is lunchtime. Did arrive at the office to find fire engines outside  but it was for the Bloc&buster store they were attending to, not my office (phew!) Not sure what the issue was but there was no smoke/no fire and I got to see lots of firemen in their uniforms on a Monday morning
Anyhow. Enjoyed stitching my xmas card exchange card this am on the bus to work :T its coming along nicely:T
If I don't go to the pub quiz tonight, will carry on with that this evening:T (roll on home time!)
So hope you don't mind but thought I would pose a question. (its kind of off topic - hope thats ok).
I have some leave coming up (only 2 days) which I was intending to use to take a long weekend with my OH. He is partaking in a running event so there will be 2 days of travelling (about 6 hours each way), 1 day of event, and 1 day to do as we please. We are staying with friends.
I'm now thinking that actually I would like to stay at home. I suppose if I could magic myself to my friends house, I would go as I don't really like travelling but I can't decide.
my OH is happy for me to do whatever I want but I feel bad at saying I was going and now I'm considering changing my mind.
I'm kind of weighing up a weekend away (albeit with 2 days of travelling) with the opportunity of two solid days of stitching.....
(I was thinking of cancelling leave and tagging it on to another long weekend meaning I would get 6 days away from the office).
I feel a weekend away would do me good but as I've got older, I've become very much of a "home bird" and don't seem to like change/being away from home. so I am kind of scratching my head wondering what I should do and thought I would throw it out to you lovely lot to see what you think.
Brednall, I suspect Louise might be the best person to answer your question. I think I would however grid the material every 10 x 10 stitches with either some thread that you would pick out as you came to it or you could try

FOS, i found the manual removal instructions to get rid of babylon clicky but you should be able to download spybot S&D to remove it automatically (disable tea-timer on install as it can mess things up).
*Louise*, the pale colours have lots of lovely shades of purple my favourite colour, i love stitching BDCross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0 -

or you could grid 10x10 squares with a washable pen that wash out in warm water (but some of us have had problems with them not washing out propally),
or air erasable pens http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vanishing-Fabric-Marker-Eraser-Pen-Colour-Violet-Quilting-Cross-Stitch-Sewing-/140854591684?pt=UK_Crafts_Sewing_Supplies_MJ&hash=item20cb9680c4 which disappear after a few hours, or some people use a cotton or fishing line to mark out there 10x10 grids, if i remember rightly people found the fishing wire easier to remove when they had finished hth
if it was me flat eric i would stay at home and enjoy the peace and quite for a few days of stiching, i to am a homebody
these are my latest finishes - this one was ment to be a purse using a repeating pattern but i got bored so just did one repeat and made it in to a card wallet, front and back pictures
kiss which i did ages ago, but have made it into a pillow
