Emma - sorry to hear the news re your sale. Unfortunately I cannot come up with anything different to the other suggestions that have already been made.
nmm - love the BD update :T
Have made a start on a little xmas card (not the one to be used for exchange I might add) in an attempt to enter into the xmas spirit.
Still have to sort something out for the 12/12/12 project.

Oooo I love beading...
Will email you shortly...
Oh no, you poor thing. I have had this so I feel your pain, i was off work for a week last yearI don't think anyone who hasn't suffered from it quite understands what it's like! And why always at night when you need to sleep?! Really hope you and Elle feel better soon.
I am off to a wedding reception later but in the meantime am going to work on my cats, I will finish them soon! (Itching to start a new project :rotfl:)
I've heard it can be worse than labour, but never having gone through that, I don't know. All I know is that it's agony! Like having a metal vice round your body and it being tightened-A LOT! And the sickness isn't good, either. Did you have surgery for it? Almost all my attacks have been at night, but last week I had one on Tuesday morning. I only had toast & nutella and a coffee, so no idea what caused that one. Had that breakfast before & been ok.
How was the wedding reception? Hope you enjoyed it!blue_eyed_girl wrote: »Other people don't get it do they re being able to stitch anything because we xstitch. I think it is the people who come up with the designs in the first place who deserve most of the credit.
Thanks for your support too.

Yep. Especially those lovely designers who don't use french knots.
It's the ones who design realistic animals that I always think are amazing. To get the eyes looking right is so tricky.chickywiggle wrote: »;) done let me know if i've missed you out.

Oh?
I would have signed mineis it supposed to be like a secret Santa thing then? I'm guessing my postmark would give mine away more than a signature :rotfl:
I was going to ask about the cards as well because I was going to sign it but then it wouldn't be anonymous.
Mrs M - One of my HAED's has blending filament in but I haven't stitched with it before. I have heard that thread heaven helps. And using shorter lengths of thread than you would normally have.
If we're paired up, then we're stitching for each other, right? So it's not anonymous as we are getting a card from whoever we're sending to...
Unless Caroline has done it in a circle, so A sends to B, B sends to C etc etc.
Personally, I think it's nice to sign it. (And my card is definitely being kept! I ALWAYS keep my hand made cards and sometimes I frame them too)
Blending filament/metallics-thread heaven helps, as does shorter lengths and fixing it to the needle-like a backwards loop knot. Worth the extra hassle in the end too.chickywiggle wrote: »Blesss DS1 - got up this morning "is it only1 more long sleeep until grandma comes?" "yes it is" " ok I'm going back to bed"........... Well, the craft fair was not so good. I only sold 3 things so now I have a box of stuff all made up to sell and nowhere to sell it.
If anyone has any suggestions on where I can sell it on, please do let me know. i have thought about opening an ebay shop but not sure if this would be worthwhile.
Emma
Oh, what a shame, Emma. I would avoid ebay, but Etsy sounds promising. Never sold on there, but have a friend who has a jewellery shop on it.
Or maybe see if any local schools are having a christmas fair and you could have a stall there? I know it's another fair, so another day spent at a stall, but nearer christmas may be busier.Cub Camp went well, had a lovely day yesterday but the overnights were extremely cold. We were camping by the side of a safari park and the lions were very noisy all night. So the noise coupled with the cold meant very little sleep.
On a stitchy note I have started the "C" Charlie Bear for Charlie for Christmas. I'm stitching it on white fabric which has gold glitter flecks in it. I've had it years and never known what to stitch on it. Will try to add pictures of the turtle and "C" to the forum tomorrow.
Kept awake by LIONS! Not many people can say that, I guess! LOL!
I love sparkly fabric and I look forward to seeing your Charlie Bear pic.blue_eyed_girl wrote: »Have made a start on a little xmas card (not the one to be used for exchange I might add) in an attempt to enter into the xmas spirit.

Spent all evening looking through old magazines for a design for the exchange card. Also found lots more christmasy designs I want to do myself...:o
But, I did find the magazine with the chart for this in...
...which I started years ago and knew where the fabric was, but not what mag the chart was in.
Think I'm going to do this for my 12/12/12 project
You never know, I might even finish the polar bear one on 20/12/2012 too!
Next to choose something halloweeny to stitch...:TCross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Morning all
Thanks for your suggestions - I am going to try Etsy and see what happens there,
Now I can get back to some real stitching or a larger piece at least. I'd love to get on with 'Row of Love' but think I might need to grid the material out before I carry on. Just wondered if you lovely ladies could tell me the best way to do this - a pen or with sewn running stitch type grid to remove as I go or afterwards.
Regards

really sorry to hear this Emma, is leicester too far away for you? the local high school started craft fairs last christmas and the 1st one was well supported i did a little charity stall to support the school and did ok but the proper crafters all seemed to be doing really well. if you want the details pm me. its the 1st saturday in december and im sure the stalls were £10-£15 last year for a 4 hour pitch. they suply tables.
sorry if ive confused the card exchange it wasnt my intention it was the "keep who youre sending to secret that confused me but maybe that was untill they actually recieve it:o
thank you all for the comments re blending filament, im glad its not just me i thought i was doing something wrong. will definately look out for some thread heaven.SPC~12 ot 124
