Managed some stitching today on brednalls AOY :) Had a little incident at work though, I'm a courier I finished picking up a parcel, then I started to walk to the gate when their little dog ran out of the house and bit my leg  Thankfully it didn't break the skin just a bit sore and bruised

Quick skim read before settle in front of the box. proper catch up over the long weekend :j

Firstly belated birthday greetings Chicky :bdaycake: Hope you had a fab day.

....I'm also been thinking about stitching up small things that can be sold at a charity coffee morning to be held in the autumn. What are people's views on this? I know that people won't want to pay much (if anything) so is it really worth it? I don't expect to get back the cost of materials/my time but to make something would be nice.

I do some volunteer work at our local cat rehoming centre which has an open day in Aug and I'm hoping to have a craft stall. I'm going to make some cross stitch bookmarks and I've found loads of free small cat cross stitch charts on Pinterest which I thought I'd make up into cards, but also frame some as pictures for demo purposes . It's a cat charity so a cat theme will be appreciated. I'd just be using up some of the stash I've had for years so I'm not worried about the cost, and I stitch while watching the telly so no need to recoup the cost of my time.

Thanks for this. and thanks for the tip re pinterest. I'm not looking to recoup my time and like you I'll be using up stash so not worried about recouping the cost of that either

I'm hoping that by having something to aim for, I'll actually start stitching again...

Wow that's fantastic!! so very effective. Have you a special place to hang it once its done?? needs pride of place!

Thank you! I do have spare wall space in the bedroom for it, but I'm sure getting it framed is going to cost me an arm and a leg :)

As for my next project, I know exactly what I want to do! A couple of years ago I lived in Venice for six months, so it has to be this one:

Although I think it might have gone from ebay :(

    Happy stitching everyone!

Think it will, but will be worth every penny after all that hard work.

The kit is still available on Ebay, they have their own webiste too . Bought the Evening Star kit from Atlascrafts on Ebay, very fast to dispatch

    Hi ladies.

Gildius. Lovely update, it's coming along brilliantly. Good luck with your next project

Maisie. I feel your pain! I too have learnt the hard way about not stitching when tired or when unable to concentrate fully on the stitching.
Mind you, I can make big mistakes when fully awake and my mind is only on my stitching :D

Nmm. Hope your leg feels better soon! I have had my postie knock on my door needing a first aid kit before. Someones dog had bitten his leg and broken the skin and he didn't have anything in his van to patch himself up with.

    As for me.

Snowman and Santa are coming along nicely but I noticed yesterday that I don't like how one side of the star has stitched up. Most of it is nice, clean straight lines but the bit that meets the snowmans finger is a bit higgeldy piggeldy. When stitching it I didn't completly follow the chart, I tried to make the lines straight but not sure if it's worked.
I think I might do the backstitch just on the star and see what I think. If I don't like it I will have to unpick because it will forever bug me if I don't! :(
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

Hi all, just popping in before I go get comfy in my chair. Had chemo today it went well, told the Dr. I had my appetite back and she said 'good, good.' She's also pre-booked my scan ready for when I finish chemo too. Over half way there now, just another 4 to go!

Right off to stitch my American Eagle.

Hope everyone has a nice easter.
