My copy of WOXS just dropped through the door! It's funny because an hour or so ago I was wondering when it was due!

Anyways my review coming up so look away now if you're not a subscriber and don't want to be spoiled :D

Free Gift - Very Cute! Will definitely be stitching this. Might give it to my Mum as she is a tea lover.

Somebunny - Again very cute, but I dunno who I'd stitch it for.

    Hummingbirds - Don't like.

Post-it-Note Covers - Good idea, cute too.

Subs Only Chart - These seem to be better these days. Cute kitties, something I might stitch for myself being a cat owner.

Wedding Bouquet Sampler - Hmmmm it's a bit girlie for a wedding sampler really, seems too focused on the bride only.

We Are Family - Very handy, something I can see me using a few times!

Elephants - There's something not quite right with them but I can't put my finger on what it is?

Blackwork ABC - Love it, will come in very handy especially for birthday cards.

    HAED - Love it!

Flower Cards - Again could come in handy.

Furry Tales - Ugg. Still hate these things.

Football Fan - What a cutie!

Cupcake - When do these end? They seem to have been going for ever! You can hardly see the cupcake part of this one, but it is okay, better than some past ones.

Next Month - Hmmmm not much appeals to me from what they have chosen to show us. The pirate ship looks cook though.

    Hi all

Chicky - thanks for the link. Now in a quandary as DS1 loves star wars too and there are some fantastic charts on there for them too lol.

Love all the updates. Really beautiful work from everyone.

Started back on my x-stitch and managed to get the A finished on Monday. Started the M last night and although I was tired I was getting on grand then two rows from the end of the M I realised it wasn't quite matching up lengthways with the other side. Backtracked and found my error - had to unpick half of it. So in future no matter how well I think I am getting on, if I am tired I am going to bed:o.

Soulie - hope all goes okay for you tomorrow.
  • Thanks for the review Soulie I always love to read what others think of the designs. My comments are in purple

Love this and really like the wire hanger as well - it's such a quick and easy way to finish projects

Somebunny - Again very cute, but I dunno who I'd stitch it for.
Same here - cute but would only stitch if I knew someone who would really like it

    Hummingbirds - Don't like.
Can't decide about these - I like the floral part of the designs but not the birds

Post-it-Note Covers - Good idea, cute too.
Another great set of designs from Rhona

Subs Only Chart - These seem to be better these days. Cute kitties, something I might stitch for myself being a cat owner.
Nice for a cat owner but DH allergic to cats so that's not me

Wedding Bouquet Sampler - Hmmmm it's a bit girlie for a wedding sampler really, seems too focused on the bride only.
I don't like this - too much back stitch

We Are Family - Very handy, something I can see me using a few times!
Very similar to the Jo Verso designs from years ago

Elephants - There's something not quite right with them but I can't put my finger on what it is?
I agree - is it the eyes that aren't right??

Blackwork ABC - Love it, will come in very handy especially for birthday cards.
Different and could be very useful for personalising things

    HAED - Love it!
Wonderful design and I have already made a working copy which means it has made it to my to do list - though it's a very long list :D

Flower Cards - Again could come in handy.
    Not keen

Furry Tales - Ugg. Still hate these things.
    Quite like this one

Football Fan - What a cutie!
Love this - it reminds me of so many little boys in our family

Cupcake - When do these end? They seem to have been going for ever! You can hardly see the cupcake part of this one, but it is okay, better than some past ones.
    Rubbish

As usual there are too many large ads which are nothing to do with stitching - look at the one for the clothes - is that how they think we all dress?

Quick skim read before settle in front of the box. proper catch up over the long weekend :j

Firstly belated birthday greetings Chicky :bdaycake: Hope you had a fab day.

Soulie I have only flicked through my copy of WOXS. re the elephants, I can see what you mean. I think the background doesn't suit the elephants?

I also dislike all the non stitchy ads. It bugs me but I suppose they have to finance the mag somehow.

I haven't done any stitching in ages so I think my plan for the long weekend is to stitch something. I'm just not sure what yet..... something small I think so I can start and finish it this weekend ! :j

I'm also been thinking about stitching up small things that can be sold at a charity coffee morning to be held in the autumn. What are people's views on this? I know that people won't want to pay much (if anything) so is it really worth it? I don't expect to get back the cost of materials/my time but to make something would be nice.

A lovely xstitcher messaged me to say she had the chart and has sent it to me for which I am very grateful :j

Just need to start it now but my Border Collie is taking me an age because although it looks like one colour on my updates it has actually got 3 different colours and if I lose track of where I am I am in real trouble!
