  • Started a new project. Its a birth sampler kit that I bought ages ago and put away.
    Here's a little pic...

The temps are also freezing here. Had to scrap some ice off my windscreen this morning:eek: but still it is better than rain:)
  • Has anyone had anything from the Historical Sampler company? Are the kits worth the money or better with the charts? I Have been looking at the birth samplers that are 9 squares - there is a boy and a girl one.

    Regards

also got blackwork snowflakes (that you stitch in blue)

Oh that's lovely! what was that from? I love the snowman !!!! They would (stitched individually) make cool gift tags.

Boo hiss curse. Mr T turned up without my orange truffle baileys and my diet p$psi (other brands are available :rotfl:) but they did have everything else I had ordered :T

Back to the sofa and deal or no deal !
  • Does anyone have a nice birth sampler that I could pinch a chart of please?

I have a niece due on Monday but my sister has said how much she'd like a named cross stitch for all her girls - she has 3 in total so Im wondering if I could make them for the girls for Christmas

I did one for my cousin too when she was born and she still has it 21 years on

    Many thanks in advance

These will eventually be my 2/3/4 projects

I am currently trying to finish off a dandelion cross stitch table cloth for my nan for christmas and I have just finished a tiger cub for my mum that took far too long to finish.

I would love to really get back into cross stitching again so I am looking at all your beautiful crafts enviously

Id love to do some sort of religious cross stitch card for my nan too
    Time to find me again

Sweetcarer - hope your back is not too painful. I had something smilar a few years ago, took a long while for my back to get better and if I sit for too long in the same position now it starts to ache. And hope your insurance company is better than mine was - though as my car was written off I suspect that is why they took so long to settle.

Brednall - I stitched Keep Calm from Historical Sampler. Just looked at the baby sampler on-line and it looks like there are under 10 colours, so suspect you would get the threads and fabric for less than the £20 more that the kit costs.

Anyway, time for lunch and then hopefully back to the sewing.
  • Oh no! I wanted to do the Christmas Card exchange and appear to have been missed out :(

I was called away from the PC before I could send my details
Oh well, I can be the reserve person I suppose.

Brednall - I haven't had anything from the Historical Sampler Co, but have been sorely tempted after seeing their things at a stitching show! I seem to remember the smaller designs seemed reasonably priced as kits but then the prices shot up for the larger ones. If I was going to buy one though I would sit down and work out how much the materials will cost if I bought them seperately. I hate seeing those dimensions kits priced at £50 when I know it really costs no where near that :rotfl: I really want to go on their site and have a look but I daren't as I know my list will grow if I do!

Sweetcarer - Hope you aren't too sore!

JCS1 - I love your blackwork ladies :) I've got a real thing for blackwork at the moment :D

Chicky - Love that Christmas ABC you posted a few pages back, think you've helped me add something else to my list :A

I couldn't decide one way or the other (too much on - too little time :( ) and now I wish I had ! so I will go on the reserve list too :j

Well my spring cleaning of my [STRIKE]smallest bedroom [/STRIKE] junk room is going well. Very theraputic :o

I am also going to have a sort out of my cross stitch bits and pieces. Get myself organised then start one project and stick with it !

I have also started to sort out my cross stitch threads. I have decided I am fed up of spending ages hunting for threads when I see a project I like so I am have allocated two of my card making storage chests to my threads, I've labelled them up and will distribute the threads accordingly. Will post pic when all done :j

My neck and back are a little sore still. Some of noticed on my FB page. I had a wee small car crash - someone went into the back of me (or as hubby puts it I was rear ended).

PS does the 12.12.12 stitch have to be Christmasy?

First of all - what a fright you must have got, I hope you are okay and the car survives the experience. (I assume they other party's insurance will cover it?)

Second - no real rules, just finish something on that day and post it up for us all to have a nosey at :D
