caroline78-thanks for the PM about the Christmas exchange.
I'm sure you'll settle into a routine soon & your stitching will be back to normal. Change always messes things up a bit.

Chickywiggle-Have a great holiday. I like Blackpool. Are you going for the lights, or is it the wrong time of year? Shorts, though??? Think they'll end up staying in your suitcase. :D
As for your bad luck with companies at the moment-it's not just me, then? It seems to come all at once, doesn't it? Does no good at all for stress levels. Hope you get stuff sorted out. As for Play-I haven't used them in a few years as I read a very long thread on here about their lack of security. Might be worth a read.
Could I please ask for a ;) of that Christmas design too? I know I said I have lots of Christmas stuff to stitch, but I do really like that one. :o

Mallowbrain & BEG-I can't sew either. People don't understand that because I can cross stitch, it doesn't mean I am generally crafty. I can't sew, I can't draw, I can't paint. I don't darn socks and I can barely sew a button on!

BEG-It's going to take a while for everything to sink in. Give it time and if you need to talk, we're here, or there are plenty of people who specialise in bereavement. Don't try and 'brave it out' if you are struggling. Believe me, it doesn't do anyone any good. Cross stitch helps too, of course! :)

I think the 12/12/12 or 20/12/2012 project can be any size. It was just something that came up in chat and we thought it was a nice idea to finish something on one of those days, as they're special dates. Doesn't even have to be Christmassy, although I think mine will be.

*Louise*-wow! Still lots to finish this year, although 18 projects so far is brilliant. Only 3 full months (and a week left of this one?) left until 2013.

Sweetcarer-so sorry to hear about your car accident. Hope both you & your car are ok.

Sammy_kaye18-pics please! :) We always like to see photos of your projects.

Sk00bie1-I have the Christmas ABC that chicky posted a pic of a few pages back. ;) It's quite detailed, though. Lots of beading.

Flat Eric-you sound like you're getting very organised today! Well done. :T

  • hi all,

if you've not already send me a pm with which chart and an e-mail.
The christmas one was in a magazine - i'm only about 10 in so will post anything else I think people may fancy. will try and get em done before i go to bed tonight.

yes ruth_honey lights switch on last weekend in August (or thereabouts) and go till 1st weekend in November (ish). So going specifically for that. Tried to do it last year but only had a few hours as was staying in Preston and the trams stopped running and it was chucking it down with rain and my trainers were leaking and I was NOT a happy bunny.
It's been lovely here (short weather) followed by a week of horrible rain but no - the shorts are coming out and my new fluffy pj's are going in.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
  • Hi everyone. Hope you are all having a good weekend. Lots to catch up on here. I need to post more often.

Alisb - I started it in February this year so just over six months.

FlowerofScotland - thanks for the recommendation. When Forest Walk is completed that will definitely be framed professionally. I'll speak to them about the other piece then.

Ruth_Honey - thanks for the comment. I would be interested in getting together to meet everyone.

Firefly - l ike that sampler. Very sweet.

I nearly put the heating on today but I'm just getting over a bad cold. I am huddled on the sofa with a blanket instead. Very MSE.:money:

PM sent. :) Loved the lights. Must be 3 or 4 years ago we went now, but really enjoyed going up & down on the tram. Look out for the Fishermans Friends boat tram-hope it still runs.
You braved Pr1mark on a Saturday then? :D Love new snuggly PJs. Got fluffy socks packed, too?

Get well soon, Elle. Sending a virtual lemsip for you. I'm huddled on the sofa under a fleece blanket too. Still in my pjs. I had a bad night last night. Another gallstone attack, so I'm still knackered this afternoon.

I love winter, autumn/fall and summer, but spring I'm not too keen on-no offence intended. Just not my thing. They're so detailed and very American. :D

I like the idea of these - but I am not too keen on the design (yes, I know hubby is American and I should love them). I am looking for design I could do similar. Was thinking the Joan Elliott Goddess faces but I would want to display them all the time as they are lovely.

Well my special fabric has arrived so I can do my AOY exchange. Found a pattern for my xmas card exchange - now to check the thread stash.

Talking of stashes hubby was tidying up some boxes (emptying them and putting stuff away) and came accross about 30 Anchor threads. So he got informed when he is in charity shops and he sees threads he can get me DMC or Anchor if he sees them as I know they are colourfast. He asked me before what does he do if he sees cross stitch.

I am trying not to worry about all the stuff associated with the accident. Got a letter from the lawyer to help me with any expenses, etc after. Really miss my wee car.

Better get on with some work if I want to do some stitching later.

Keep well girls - till next time

    sweetcarer ;)

Oh no, you poor thing. I have had this so I feel your pain, i was off work for a week last year :( I don't think anyone who hasn't suffered from it quite understands what it's like! And why always at night when you need to sleep?! Really hope you and Elle feel better soon.

I am off to a wedding reception later but in the meantime am going to work on my cats, I will finish them soon! (Itching to start a new project :rotfl:)

Other people don't get it do they re being able to stitch anything because we xstitch. I think it is the people who come up with the designs in the first place who deserve most of the credit.

    Thanks for your support too.

Also, people who don't cross stitch have no clue how complex some of the designs are.

My mum...for one! Sees a cross stitch kit that she likes the picture on the front of the pack and buys it, wanting me to stitch it for her. No clue about fabric, thread counts, back stitch etc. etc.

    Sigh. :rotfl:
