No problem at all. These are the same as I have http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pack-of-5-Assorted-Sizes-Rubber-Thimbles-Thimblettes-sizes-00-0-1-2-3-/380538090495?pt=UK_BOI_Office_Office_Supplies_Stationery_ET&hash=item5899d673ff ( I have no link at all to the seller, just the cheapest mixed pack) When I use one I use it on my middle finger and the red, green and blue will all fit nicely. The yellow and orange only really fit my thumb.
As you say, without knowing for sure which size you need, a mixed pack is the way to go.

Thanks again, link very useful. Would have totally missed them as not in the craft section. Random question, but does you finger get very sweaty or claustrophobic? Just about to order from the link you sent. Also came across these for future ref.

The new project is very impressive. I wonder if you will find that it grows quickly as promised on the website?

Looking forward to seeing your completed framed pieces. I am still looking for my chart which is similar to your Elegance in Red (only mine is Elegance in Black). I keep getting distracted by rediscovering other things in my stash so I am really enjoying the search :D

How apt to have finished your DB picture as he releases his first new single for years

I read that aswell.... we'll see!

Elegance in red was a joy to stitch, not too blocky but not too much confetti either (if that makes sense)

DB was actually finished before Christmas but don't think I'd posted it on here. It is going on my landing along with a four foot by two foot oil painting from the serious moonlight tour dated 1983. Painted by a artist friend of my Dad. Still have one more DB cross stitch to do though. Really not obsessed ;)

Have just copied the chart for the map but out for dinner tonight so probably won't start it until the weekend now.

tricksie - Welcome back :) look forward to seeing your finishes, I like the look of the Map. Good luck not buying any more stash, I know I couldn't manage that :o

Thanks Louise. I have probably twenty five kits waiting to be done, all of which I still love. Ebayed any I didn't a while ago. And of course loads of charts from mags, etc., fabric and a full set of DMC threads so really not NEEEEEEEED any more stash.

I also have 96 unread books on my kindle and I don't know how many unread tree books so really don't need any more of those either!

I'm not doing it to save money particularly, just feel that I shouldn't get anything else until I need to. I promise to confess if I crack....

amazing what can be found when threatened with trading standards.......
Thank you for your recent email.

Firstly, please accept my apologies for the trouble you have had. I can confirm I have managed to locate a Vintage Box and Thread gift set and have arranged for this to be sent out for you. We are due further stock of this gift set but cannot confirm when this will be. This particular gift has been more popular than we anticipated, there we have not always had the stock available to fulfill orders immediately.

I can see from your email that you have mentioned your friends also awaiting this gift set. At this time we are unable to fulfill all outstanding orders as we do not have the stock to do so. As soon as we receive the stock we will be able to complete these orders. If they wish to discuss this further personally I will be happy to do so.

Again, please accept my apologies for the trouble you have had with this order.

and another guarentee they will be getting stock - funny thought they weren't yesterday..........................
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Being back at work is wearing me out ! so I'm glad the weekend has almost arrived.

I realised when I checked my holiday the other day that I have booked a week off next month - need to decide my holiday for the year first though as don't want to waste time too early.

If I do take it off, i don't fancy the planned spring clean that I usually do when I take leave at this time of year. So seeing Les Mis might be on the list as will lots of cross stitch !

Have to admit I had seen you mentioned Les Mis before and I thought to myself, No that sounds boring. However, I seen a clip of a film and thought that looks good, I was amazed when it was a clip of Les Mis....So may be going to see it after all....xx

  • Thank goodness it's Friday indeed... I am totally shattered!

Les Mis for me tonight though, so that's exciting. Must resist urge to eat out afterwards. I have a perfectly functioning left over lasagne in the fridge!

I have 3 weeks holiday to take by the end of April and I have no idea what to do with it... It's so busy, and I don't really have enough money for a holiday... well, Mr Visa could help but I am trying not to.

I've been looking on the t'interweb and it's cheaper (almost) to go to America than Spain, so I am doing some research this weekend. Crazy.

Hope it's not too snowy where you are - looks like rain here of course, as always!

No stitchy news, too tired after going back to work!

Have a quick day at work.... x

I agree on both counts. So tired, I've had a migraine followed by 2 days of headaches this week which Im sure is due to bejng back at work. Also, not sure if I said but Dad isn't well, hurt his knee and on crutches can't drive or do anyhing for himself. Having to go there before work, try to get out of work about lunchtime and then take evening meal down later. Never mind it won't be forever and I know he'd do the same for me. He's almost 80 so it's really knocked him around.

As for holidays we have a small endowment which matures in May for about £1200 and I've been trying to find a cheap holiday in Italy but they are none existant. Only said to hubby yesterday that America working out similar price.

No stitcy news I'm afraid head hasn't allowed it. Will see what the weekend brings.

    Takecare everyone.
