  • hugs and hi's to all who need them.

not much progress here been sorting out the house after christmas/ new year - painting, cleaning, moving things etc. determined to pick up DOH this week tho (hopefully an hour tonight).

will nip over to your 13 in 2013 thread in a bit soulie.

got a bit of a shocker last night/ today. my neighbor came round screaming for my hubby (who was at work), THANKFULLY my other neighbour was in and rushed to help her......................heard her calling an ambulance (but neighbor offered to take them to hospital)
.............................found out today it was cause she'd got home to find her son had taken an overdose trying to deliberately kill himself. when she found him he was unconscious  if she'd just been half hour later........................

How awful. Have you heard if he is OK?

I have signed up to Soulies' 13 thread, but I'm taking a few days off of stitching. Got a 'wasgij' jigsaw that I'm going to tackle for a bit of a break :)

Have never heard of these - just reading about them after googling made my head hurt. Your HAED will be so relaxing afterwards :D

I have also signed up to Soulie's thread as I like the idea of sharing and seeing progress on projects that aren't just cross stitch (though that will always be my first love)
  • morning all
hope all are well hugs if you need one, been on the phone to step mum this morning, dads in hospitla, she texted me yesterday but couldnt get hold of her properly till last night, got more tests today so wont know much till later, hoping hes well enough to be home again soon.
done one of those wasjig puzzles. ours is a shopping centre in the sales.

mags cat, love your dragon and i think the frame compliments the colurs really well - i would keep it in that one

signed up to soules 13 in 13 challenge, did a couple of hours on the trotters last night. almost finished second piggy.

Hope you hear good news about your Dad

I must have missed magscat's original post - that TW dragon is amazing and so colourful in contrast to your other piece

Belated Happy New Year to everyone!

Have had a busy start to the year. Sorted out my stash and chosen my next project https://www.thecrossstitchguild.com/Shop/Product.aspx?product=76
Should keep me busy for a while!

Have resolved to use up all of my stash before buying anymore and also read all my books (both tree and Kindle) before buying anymore. Only exception to this is if I run out of a thread and need to buy another skein.

Have finished elegance in red, David Bowie and another kit called valentine so will post photos onc framed.

Right, time to tackle the backstitch on my Greek Scene :(

The new project is very impressive. I wonder if you will find that it grows quickly as promised on the website?

Looking forward to seeing your completed framed pieces. I am still looking for my chart which is similar to your Elegance in Red (only mine is Elegance in Black). I keep getting distracted by rediscovering other things in my stash so I am really enjoying the search :D

How apt to have finished your DB picture as he releases his first new single for years

his mum said he'll be ok - just a lot of family things to sort through so he doesn't attempt it again, thank you.

I hope your dad is ok now, is the clot treatable?

Well I e-mailed Origin again - for those STILL waiting their 'free gift' that never appeared.
    the reply
Thank you for your email regarding Cross Stitch Card Shop magazine.

Firstly we would like to offer our apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you and the delay in response.

I can confirm we have been investigating your query further and unfortunately we are unaware of regaining any further stock of this gift.

However we do have an alternative gift of a Craft Organiser Sq Stuff Bucket available if this may interest you?

If you would like us to allocate this to your subscription we await your confirmation and we will do this for you.

Once again we would like to apologise and if I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Kind Regards

    my reply:
Let me stress again this is NOT an 'inconvenience' it is simple poor customer service, miselling and lying. I just thought I would give you another chance to redeem yourselves before sending the correspondance to trading standards to investigate.

Considering you have been "investigating my query further" why did no one bother to contact me (or others waiting) when it was decided there would be no stock arriving after we had been told it would be.

I already told your collegue back in SEPTEMBER I do not want the alternative - and signed up (as others did) becuase the free gift was so good - we are dubious there ever was stock of this as are yet to find anyone who recieved one.
Your collegue was arranging 3 extra issues but I am awaiting confirmation when I need to cancel my DD to ensure no further money is taken from your dishonest company.

I will feed this back to my forum group of around 200+ avaid cross-stitchers and crafters so those who are awaiting contact from you over the 'free gift' can get back in touch for their compensation.

    regards

ohh - email from Michael Powell - new book out - looks FANTASTIC....... and a bargain at less then £4 delivered.
hmmm..... perhaps order it when my next shop and scan vouchers are ready.....well I have until April 13th lol.
Michael Powell provides twenty mini cross stitch designs, each accompanied by a full-colour chart, key and general instructions. Each of Michael's unique, quirky contemporary designs measures approximately 31/2 x 31/2in (9 x 9cm), though the designs come in a variety of formats and include tall, narrow designs as well as borders. All the designs can be worked on 14-count Aida or evenweave fabric. There's a broad range of subjects to choose from, including country cottages, flowers, hearts, and festive Christmas trees, so whatever the occasion, there is bound to be a design that suits it perfectly. There are general instructions and simple stitch diagrams at the beginning of the book, so even those new to cross stitch will be able to accomplish all of the projects, as well as notes on fabric preparation and washing instructions.

Ooh thanks for that! I had an Amazon voucher for Christmas and although I've spent some of it on books for my Kindle there's enough left to pre-order this :)
  • Helloo everyone, sorry I have not been around very much since NY as I have been feeling a bit meh. Will try my very best to catch up on all the posts (already had a peep at the lovely pics):D.

Welcome to all our new members - looking forward to seeing your pics as soon as you are able to post them.

Hope you get good news re Dad Mrs. MP.

Nice one chicky - you tell 'em re free gift. It seems as though you have been waiting bloomin ages. Re the new MP book of mini stitches - just pre-ordered mine. Will be a lovely surprise when it arrives mid April. Hope your neighbour gets the help he obviously needs.

Have nearly done '1st Day of Xmas' - will post a pic probably by weekend. Forgot to photograph 20.12.2012 MP Cottage before it got packed away and put up in the loft.

Good luck Soulie and Co with the 13 in 2013. Unfortunately I dont feel able to commit to it just now but I have subscribed and will be keeping an eye on you all. :D

    Take care of yourselves
