  • Thanks nmm...I had started taking lessons when I was 17 (17 years ago...lol) and had my test date ready to go, when my brother had a severe car accident, needed plastic surgery on his face and was very ill. That just put me off and I cancelled my test. I have half heartenly starting them a few times but never seen it the whole way through. I am not too worried about the theory part as I am a wee swot...lol...but the driving bit just makes me nervous. I have no confidence at all. However I am determined this time as I would love to be able to just go where I wanted, when I wanted without having to rely on my Dad all the time...xx
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
  • Oh good Luck Caroline. My partner is Dutch and has been learning to drive the last few months. He has his practical test in February. I really hope you both pass this year as it gives such a sense of freedom.:j

Mags got the name colours spot on, that' s the reasoning behind it :)

Sounds like you enjoy the same kind of humour as me! I bought an audio CD by Rhod Gilbert for DH for christmas. It was in poundland! :j Looking forward to listening to that. His rants make me giggle.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Mine was perfect. Although Santa brought far too much for Jaxon. I had wanted to get my tree down yesterday but there is still about 25 presents under it that haven't been opened yet. Any every toy he got makes a noise, some randomly in the middle of the night....lol

I have signed up for the quilt too, found a lovely star design that looks nice and bright, so checking now to find some aida on offer...xx

I can send you some aida if you need. I offered this to anyone who needs it for the quilt squares in my huge post earlier, but you may have missed it. Threads too, if needed.

Oh, that's nice. Very colourful. It looks like it's fully stitched, though, so it wouldn't matter what colour aida was used.

I still haven't managed any stitching this holiday. :( Still seem to be on wind down mode. I suspect that just as I get into that happy relaxed frame of mind, it will be time to return to work !

OFF TOPIC - I was watching the Nigel Slater, Life is Sweets tv programme that was on BBC4 on xmas eve. Its a shame sweet shops don't exist such as were featured. What is everyone's favourite sweet ??

I keep checking the sew and so website but no sale yet.... I don't know why I'm looking as I have enough crafty bits to see me through 2013.

What is everyone planning for New Year? I'm intending to have a quiet night. Will try to last till midnight although tempted to go to bed at my normal time of 10pm as it is back to reality on the 2nd and need to get back into a routine at some point. Intend if i get myself organised to start some stitching and spend some time on new year's eve stiching away :)
  • Good luck with all your challenges for 2013 Caroline. :T

    Hello!

I hope that everyone had a lovely break over Christmas and managed to get some rest.

Flat Eric - I'm doing the same at the moment, I keep looking at the sew and so website for their sale to start. I wonder if they are having one. I just looked at my e-mails and Stitcher has a sale now - never ordered from them though...

I managed to get some stitching done over the break. The "let it snow" (my shortened version!) is not finished. I've started to do a kit with two lions on. This is the first kit I've ever done and I do like having all the threads ready. Although I got into a bit of a mess with them to start with.
  • morning all

I have plans to do more stitching today although we are babysitting later so I'll see how it goes.

we don't go out new year just have a quiet evening I may even get on with some stitching.

I have also been keeping an eye on sew and sew for a sale not that I should buy anything but no harm in looking:rotfl:

well it's pouring again here so going to get soaked walking the dog again have a good day everyone hope you are all relaxing.
You can if you think you can .
