    These you mean? http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Nesting-Dolls

Sounds like a nice but busy day.

I am still stuck here on the sofa :( REALLY FED UP now :(

I'm going back tomorrow, no matter what

Those are the ones-thank you. The penguins are very cute, but I think she'd like the traditional ones best. Will try selling some more bits of eBay, so they won't cost me 'real' money. Was very pleased that a pair of shoes I bought for £4.50 sold for £37!!! Lost out on 80p postage cost, mind, as I just guessed the postage rate and it's higher than I thought. Silly me! :o
Hope you feel better tomorrow. I know you're fed up, but don't go back to work until you well. It'll take you much longer to feel 100% if you do too much too soon.

    Hi everyone.

I've just added the Christmas card to the flickr group.

I know how people feel regarding Christmas getting in the way of stitching. I feel the same way. I've spent most of this eve decorating a christmas cake for someone at work. I should be able to squeeze in an hour though before bed. The cat is asleep (thank god). He keeps playing with the Xmas presents

I've finished one piece of work. As soon as it's washed and ironed I'll post a picture. I might be lucky and finish another one tomorrow (this is one that I'm stitching during lunch breaks at work) the third one has lots of beading so maybe by the end of the year it'll be finished.

Not enough hours in the day, are there?
Blossom is happily playing with the ribbon on one of my presents. At least she's stopped biting the tree branches for now...
well I made a start on Dictionary of Homes Saturday..... and unpicked it all..........and redid it (as I started 1 row too high.... DOH!

Here's where I'm up to.... gonna have an hour on it now before I fall asleep.

I was gonna say one row won't matter, but then I notice the fabric was gridded, so it would put out the whole kit.

  • I know Ruth_honey I was sooo close to leaving it but I just KNOW I'll get a couple of weeks in and forgot I need to change the line spacing.

Then it would be pointless to spend extra money and have to adjust the whole chart of stitching. Best to unpick & restart.
At least it was early on, not a week into stitching.

It' s shocking, I STILL haven' t picked up my meerkat :o Have spent the last 3 evenings wrapping gifts and tonight I was knackered and fell asleep watching tv. Mind you I have a small lump on the palm of my hand which is annoying me so stitching would just irritate it atm.

I've spent most of today wrapping christmas pressies..........then remembered I had bought DS1 special lego paper so gonna have to spend another night unwrapping and re-wrapping his. I have come to the conclusion there are too many presents too little space in my room to put it all. (as we now have family pressies here as well. ) I think some of it's gonna have to go under the tree and pray DS2 doesn't try and unwrap em all.

My DD keeps pulling out the parcels from under the tree to see if any are for her.She is 5 and old enough to know better, she never did it when she was younger, I dunno what' s got into her.

    Oooo congratulations!!!:T

Although it was hectic I had a lovely day today - there was two performances of the children's' s nativity so I was at both with various relatives :D

mrs-moneypenny, have added your card to the group :)

I've decided to take up one of those 5 issues for £5 offers, i'm stuck between Cross Stitch Crazy & World of Cross Stitching, which one has the best free kits as that's probably what will swing it. I really like the animal designs in Cross Stitch Collection but they don't seem to do free gifts :(

The other thing i mentioned was a full set of DMC, OH didn't seem so keen on the £125 price tag :rotfl: anyone know anywhere cheaper? Thats from ATS, don't need them on bobbins etc, just the threads would do me :)

  • Ladies, what is the best cross stitch pen to get please. I want to be able to mark the fabric whilst stitching but don't want it to stay on there?

    Hi ladies.

    JCS & NMM. Nice progress.

Chicky. Nice start, look forward to seeing updates.

Moments_of_sanity. Personally I use an air-erasable pen because I only use it to mark areas of confetti stitching without having to look at the chart constantly.
The pen can be washed out immediately if you make a mistake (a dab with a wet cotton bud is enough to wash it out) but it will disappear itself when left. The warmer the atmosphere, the quicker it disappears.
I don't do lines or anything, just dot on the fabric where each stitch is to go.
If you want to mark your fabric and have that mark stay until you have finished your design then a washable pen would be better. I have no experience of them though so can't recommend any.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

I subscribe to both WOXS and Cross Stitch Crazy. I remember (just about) buying the first issue of Cross Stitch Crazy and I have subscribed on and off over the years. I don't mind the magazine but there is something about it I don't like. I think WOXS is my favourite mag. this seems to be the only mag that has stayed true to the craft. Cross Stitcher (my previous favouirte) has (I think) become more of a craft mag with cross stitch themes
