Yay my card was waiting for me when I got home tonight - thank you very much JCS1. It's the first card I've recived and sure it will be the best. Can't wait to see all the cards tomorrow.
didn't manage any stitching yesterday or Monday but I did take Tree of Stitches off the frame and put the bug on so that I am ready to do some tonight. Not sure if I will manage any though as I'm really tired, didn't go to bed until gone midnight and have been awaje since 4 and up since 5am.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

I read this and wondered if it was me....and it was
:j
Thank you very much, it's really lovely (and I love the fabric as well)
I have taken a picture already so as soon as we can post pics, I will put it on here :T
So glad it arrived before you went away & you like it. I've stitched that design before for my mum & I think it's so cute. Those holographic threads weren't much fun, though. You can't even use thread heaven on it either. But they give a nice effect.
I love my sparkly fabric too. Just finished using the same evenweave for my mum's 2012 Christmas card. It was a chart from a free chart book a month or two ago with blackwork style designs in red & green metallics (also free gift with xs mag). Stitched all in Madeira metallics.:mad::mad::eek: Wasted so much thread & went wrong quite a few times. Blooming stuff...
The card blanks I have don't really work, though. The aperture that fits I only have in white or very very pale lilac/grey. I have plain shiny 2-fold cards in good colours(red or green) but not sure how to mount the stitching. Cut my own aperture or maybe mount it 'patch style' on the front? But it may fray too much... Suggestions welcome!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I do hope they weren't "comers and goers" who couldn't be bothered to go through with it.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Caroline - That pic looks really painful. It must be really awful to have to see it and not be able to do anything.
Subtle Minx - I am sure it will arrive shortly. Although I live in Argyll we are surprisingly close to Glasgow. As soon as it arrives I will post a piccie;)
BEG - I'm glad you liked it. I have never taken part in an exchange before so wasn't sure what was expected so I went with a 'safe' choice.
Louise - I love your border around the song. Very personal and touching.0 -
Hello everyone.
Thank you very much Louise! I love the card. She's so sweet! It's also the first one I've received this year. Yay!
I nearly missed the deadline as I was counting up everything from the sealed pot challenge. I've had to make about six trips to the bank.
I am a little worried as I have made a slight mistake on my card. To whom receives it I'm sorry it's not perfect, it's the first cross stitch card I've made.
I did order the blue rose cross chart from HAED but I've been good and not started it yet. I have several pieces that are really close to being finished and I would love for them to be done by the end of Dec so I can do the 15 in 2013 facebook challenge.
I just wanted to ask everyone a quick question. If you were stitching more than one project at a time and they all used, for example, DMC 3565; would you just have one skein and swap between them or buy enough so that each project had it's own threads?

Louise - I'm sure your mother will love it, and no doubt there will be a few tears too with the meaning (the first year always seem the worst, though it's 16 years since my Dad and sometimes it feels like yesterday)
Caroline - hope he gets well soon
Ailsb - glad it arrived safely and that you like it
Mine not arrived yet, but I am rural and post doesn't arrive until after 2pm, so there's plenty of time yet.
I was Christmas shopping in Bakewell at the weekend - which is always dangerous as Wye Needlecraft is there :rotfl: And ended up treating myself to this Design Works Kit, not something I would normally go for but just thought it was a stunning design
Still not decided what to sew next, will have to have a look through tonight.
Hope everyone is ok with the cold and snow.

Evening,
Hope everyone is ok and has some stitching planned for the weekend.
As some of you may remember, I was lucky enough to win a big ebay job lot a few months ago which included lots of threads. The Goodman (US brand) ones have gone to a very kind person who does a lot of charity stitching :T:A, which leaves me with about 3 boxes full of Anchor threads which I have just finished winding onto bobbins.
I did briefly consider buying a few more to get the complete Anchor set, but after a few days dismissed the thought as OTT as I already have all the DMC threads. But I did give it serious consideration :rotfl:
So, if anyone needs any to complete a set, has a chart but is looking for threads, etc, please let me know and I'll check. Most of them are very nearly full skeins, some are 2, some less.
I do not want anything for these - other than to increase your stash and reduce mine!
I know it is bad etiquette to quote your own post, but I still have 3 boxes of Anchor threads which are looking for new homes. So if anybody is interested please pm me and I can check the colour numbers.0 -

subtle_minx, glad it arrived safely and that you love it
Yes its a patchwork tree, there were 6 designs in the set. I thought the colours were a bit different compared to the usual christmas ones. Just really pleased you like it
Mine didn't arrive today but my post is rubbish around here, i have faith it will be here tomorrow :rotfl:
caroline, i hope your wee man is better soon.
