Which bank are you with? I'm with NatWest and the branch near work has a fast pay in machine where you can pay in coins. Simply empty pot into the machine and it chugs away and counts it all for you. No counting, no bagging up the money, no limit :T

    Oh that sounds amazing..... :j:j:j

Christmas Card exchange all ready to go, thanks for the tip though, will take it the Post Office to just double check if it should be a large letter (it is fairly heavy).

Stitching mojo still not there, blackwork angel still on the shelf, but have done some smaller items.

The Christmas decorations from a recent CrossStitcher:

And I do have a "thing" for stitching things with my initial. Tigger complete with hoop marks as only finished this evening

Time to go through the stash and pick something out to do next.

Take care with the snow tonight

I don't know if any of you do the sealed pot challenge but I'm taking part and intend to sit it out this year and not give up half way through!

anyhow - while I work out the finer details (for example whether I'm going to keep a weekly tally of the coins I save so I can keep tabs on how well I'm doing), I decided to count up the 5 pence coins I have been saving in a money pot. Now I've been saving them for yonks ! at least a year or more.

I wasn't expecting to become a millionaire ! but I was kind of expecting more than the £22 I've counted up! oh well. I think I shall bank it to help fund xmas. I have lots of pennies and 2 pence pieces. can't face another round of counting up at the moment.... nor the trek to the bank to pay them in. Does anyone know if there is a limit on how many bags you can take in at anyone time and does anyone have any suggestions of what to do with these coins ? I mean I'm not going to given them away - that would be silly and I shall include them in the sealed pot challenge but its the faff of counting them all that really gets my goat !

Hi I think the coin star machines deduct 7 or 8% however at some sm if you use the self service till you can pay with coins in a similar way, tip them in and it counts them for you.

I've been doing that recently - emptying my purse of small coins - 5p / 2p / 1p. it works to a point then the machine must get fed up and spits them out again. Also its slow so you end up putting too many coins in and getting more coppers back  I'm thinking of saving my 5p coins now for chocolate fix moments and seeing just how many 5p coins the machine will accept !
  • would any one mind if i joined in.

i have just started to stitch the penguin in a xstitch mag recently. i plan to do some every day after work instead of watching tv. i have been following you all and feel you would keep me motivated. it will be a doorstop for dd bedroom.

l use my kindle fire for most things ie banking, blogs, mse, books, games, ordering on internet etc saves turning on computer.

i have paid lots of coins into my natwest bank it goes straight into you account with no deductions, brilliant.

have to go have busy day like everyone else

    happy stitching
    xx
You can if you think you can .

    I'm packed. I'm ready. I'm off on holiday:T

After having to cancel my last lot of leave (work...grrrr) I am so ready for a break.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the lovely cards you've sent when I get back.
