Card Exchange Info
You can sign your card in your own name...Never really thought about signing your work as I don't normally do it, but entirely up to each stitcher.
Any more questions, no matter how silly, feel free to ask...xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
I have signed my card with real and mse name. Hope this is ok
No stitching for me today. Don't think I will manage any until we get back from Harrogate at the weekend. Got shopping/washing to do tomorrow and a trip to the hairdressers. Had contemplated getting nails done but since the thought entered my head I have broken each nail one after the other so its probably just as well I didn't bother.
Really hope this weather improves - the rain is absolutely lashing against the back windows. I thought it was supposed to be drying up now and turning much colder.
Hope you are all ok

Thanks for the recap of the exchange rules Caroline.:) Is everyone just sending first class with Royal Mail or should I use recorded delivery?0

re: cross stitch crazy, no offence taken. I must admit i never checked the back pages - I assumed that as they had featured us we would be automatically added. HUMPH!!!
eeek *Louise* and Caroline - thank god your parents were on the ball with those DR's. Maybe he did know what he was talking about as been back at work today and actually feel 120% better - YAY
FOS - the stockings are fab, I can't find the missed stitches even after you've mentioned it. You've been very very busy.
I'm wondering does 13.11.13 count as a magic date?? Might aim for that with a 'calender' project.
Must put my card together - might do it now (seeing as I've found the bits again). I do apologise to the recipient as it may be rather large, unless I can use 2 of the 3 pics to put it on a normal size card.
sweetcarer - those 4 seasons are nice quick stithces. Would they fit in something like this???
Do you know how to set up a group on facebook (I know a lot of Ann Summers reps use them..... let me know if you want me to set one up for you)
Twinkles - could you not take the other stocking with you to a store and colour match the threads?? They could be more unique if the shades are slightly different?
Mine'll be going plain 1st class I'm afraid. If my sender doesn't mind would prefer mine normal post too as there's not always someone here to sign and my post office is a pain in the a$$ to get too, sorry.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
We could get a free certificate of posting if people are able to post from a post office? Or does that not actually get us any 'proof' anyway? Been ages since I've done anything like that. At the very least we should all put our house number & postcode on the back of the envelope so it can be returned to us if needed. So excited to post mine!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I think normal first class would be okay. Certainly put some details on the back, house number and postcode just in case. I know some of us have had items go missing before but some of the time I think that people blame the post when they haven't actually posted anyway. I do think Royal Mail are pretty reliable....xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -

the only 'proof' it really gives is that it's been posted.
with these you'd be lucky to get stamp cost back if it goes 'missing', not worth the paperwork.
E-bay stuff i always get proof cause you can claim back cost of item.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Even though I havent taken part in the card exchange, i'm really looking forward to seeing the photos of the cards.0

I can't wait to see the pictures of the cards either! Only 5 days until posting day!!
Mine is going 1st class regular mail as recorded won't help and I can't really afford special! I will put a return address on the back though. I haven't written it yet, must remember to do that before I send! Was going to sign my real and MSE names like b_e_g has done.
Yay am starting to get in the Christmas mood! I spent last night making a wreath with my mum and the last couple of evenings before that finishing off the little angels, doing a bit of the Blackwork angel and making a space in our room for the tree:xmastree:
Have also finished 4 Christmas cards in my lunchtimes, so need 6 more. I think that's doable!
That said I'm not sure I'm going to get everything else done that I'd like... too much other crafting and baking going on... but never mind! As long as I get mum's stitching, my other niece's door sign and the blackwork angel done I'll be happy and everything else can wait until next year :rotfl::rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
***off topic***
Sorry for OT post but need to have a rant!
Just had an argument with a 'friend' over the phone. Haven't heard from her for a few weeks and she hadn't been replying to my texts or emails. Starting to worry as she's usually glued to her mobile, so called her at home and asked if I'd done something wrong. She then goes off on a rant to me about how I never visited her in hospital when she was ill (I did, but once clearly wasn't enough!) and I haven't been paying her enough attention. Those weren't her exact words, but that's basically what she was getting at. She was in hospital when I was in Gloucester last visit, then when I got home, I had the damp problem to deal with, plus having a chest infection and other 'life' things to deal with. But I did go to the hospital to see her, despite feeling rough myself. Clearly this wasn't good enough, though. She's one of those people who wants attention all the time and wants everything revolving around her. I seem to attract these kind of 'friends' as I had one at school too(she stopped speaking to me after hubby & I got together. Think she was jealous that he chose me-she always was prettier than me, but yet I got the man!)
So, I was trying to explain to her that I couldn't come and visit her in hospital as I had other things to deal with, but she hung up on me. I tried calling back & she didn't answer, so left message saying if she wanted to sort this out, call me. Then I emailed, giving my side of things and saying that because I don't talk about my problems like she does, it doesn't mean that I'm ok. I've had stresses and things upsetting me too-I just don't go around telling everyone. Ended the email saying she's being very childish & if she's willing to chuck away our friendship over this, then it clearly didn't mean that much to her anyway. We've only been friends for a year & she's relied on me so much in that time that I'm just drained now! Friendship should work both ways, but she never listens to me anyway. If I try and talk, she tends to talk over me, so I give up. Sorry for the rant, girls. Needed to get this out because I'm fuming! All I wanted for today was to sit quietly and stitch Christmas stuff. Got dentist tomorrow & hospital on friday, so this was my one day to myself. And now I'm stressed and annoyed.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
