I was surprised to see the Sesame Street designs on sew and so when I was browsing earlier but I have to say they don't appeal (they don't look right) and certainly not at the price tag of £70 odd for the one I posted the link to. I stitched an elmo design a few years back :

It was a real pain doing the back stitch but I'm pleased with how he turned out so the backstitch hassle was worth it !
  • elmo looks brill flat eric, the back stitch really sets him off

Huge thankyou to Santa's Elf who pointed me in the direction of the fairy chart I loved, that has made the project so much more affordable............off to see if I have the aida (I know Idon't have 16ct so 14 will have to do) and threads I need........but if I don't my friend inherited 'some' threads from her Nan......she wasn't sure what make (to me they defo look DMC/ Anchor rather then cheap unbranded.....she wanted my opinion on selling them...i suggested if she did 25p a skein I'd buy a lot and point her in this direction to avoid ebay......but she was happy to sell me the lot for £10 + p&p. :j

  • she said she thinks most of it is 'clarks' - which looking was the one who merged with coats and clark to create Anchor...........so hoping I can make the numbering work ok.

typical - I have 4 of the threads i need for fairies (converting to DMC) so will have to tweak that design I think.....once I've converted again to Anchor and re-checked.
tis very strange tho as will have to go by number conversion as apparently Maderia 0111 is cream but the DMC equiv 744 is most defo yellow and looking at the picture it is yellow

  • Feel totally over whelmed with my mess at the minute.

I got my tree up on Monday and have started sorting Jaxon's toys but everything seems to be everywhere.

It's one of those clear ups that you have to make a mess to get tidy.....if you know what I mean.

I have boxes and tubs everywhere. Downloaded Turbo Lister tonight for ebay so have got some items on there already (too late now to start them, plus I like starting on a Sunday and letting it run for 7 days...I get paid on a Monday so have the funds to post quickly..lol)

Still need to find all the bits and pieces belonging to the toys and get a picture of them. Thinking of just putting them altogether, taking one photo and putting it on Facebook as a wee bulk lot...

Then still have to sort out getting presents moved to under tree and Santa ones stashed away.

Then the flat needs a good general clean up

Hoping to get it all done by Friday night, so I can relax over the weekend...

No real big massive jobs just lots of wee tiny ones..I used to make a list of jobs in great detail like

    Wash dishes
    Dry dishes
    Put away dishes
    Wipe draining board

Think I might do that cause it used to feel great to be able to cross off loads of jobs...lol
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
  • Caroline, it always gets worse before it gets better is one of my favourite housework lines lol, also if you write a list you will feel like you are really getting somewhere everytime you cross something off

So started a new project yesterday for oh cousin yesterday, sad story behind it, its only little so hope to get it finished before I see her tomorrow evening.

Kicked the sofa with my little toe last night, made such a crack it made eldest ds jump and its been agony ever since, really swollen and red :( so now I'm hobbling around!

Hope everyone had a good day xxx
