Just caught up with the last 10 pages. Not done any sewing for a week or so, in the middle of financial year end at work so have been coming home shattered.

But, am now off until Monday so hopefully can get some done over next few days. I have started blackwork angel, but only got as far as the bodice on the dress, so aiming to do some more.

Couple of small bits I have finished since Sunday:

I thought this Angel looked like she had stomachache so I changed the position of her hand :rotfl:

  • Hey all, just popping in before bed. Got no stitching done today as I had promised I would make a few cards for my mum so my day was taken up by that and a visit from a friend. My friends mother in law was getting rid of 'some' cross stitch magazines but didn't want to just throw them away. My friend mentioned to her mother in law that I like to stitch and therefore I was offered these magazines, which of course I accepted!

Well my friend brought them round today... she said some magazines.... 'a heck of a lot' would have been closer! Honestly, there must be over 100 magazines, every issue of some of the big names, right up to this months editions, free gifts intact and everything! Am going to make her a thank you gift, that little lot will keep me going well into retirement (I'm only 30 now lol) :rotfl::rotfl:

Happy Anniversary ailsb, 25 years is impressive! Such a nice momento to bring back from Paris too, so romantic....

was a tiring and busy day at the office yesterday so no stitchy time last night :( also had my first experience of road rage which was not pleasant. I know it goes on with people getting out of their cars and getting shouty but I have never experienced it. I consider myself to be quite a calm - its not worth worrying about kind of person so it was a shock to see someone get so cross and enranged!

Glad the weekend is just around the corner :j stitchy time booked for sunday. can't wait for cross stitch card shop to arrive! (guess that won't be before the weekend though :( )

oh and is it the new issue of cross stitch gold that is in the shops now? I looked yesterday but I couldn't find the stitchy project that I thought I wanted to stitch in it ??!!

Sounds like we've got all the good weather here in London. It's chilly, but lovely blue skies & looks sunny at the moment. I've booked train tickets for the funeral on Friday. My mum has to work & hubby has been off a lot with my problems recently, so I'm going on my own. I'm sure I'll be ok, though. It's just a long train journey. Will take a travel pillow!

Wish I wasn't so far away, I would of took a days leave to go with you - I know I didn't know the lady but don't like the idea of you going on your own esp with you just out of hospital.

Off out tonight to the cinema and then a meal (it's not every day that we get to celebrate 25 years of marriage) so no stitching for me.

Congratulations - well done to you both - you know you get less for murder lol.

Only on for a quickie before work. Been working on my bookmarks, not done any purple work (missing it).

    Keep well till next time

Thank you for all the well wishes on our anniversary. The meal was disappointing, we went to a fusion eat all you can restaurant that we used to really like but I think my tastes have changed since losing weight and I didn't enjoy it. Never mind our son did and made up for the small amount I ate.

Gave hubby "A Good Marriage" he was really impressed with it and couldn't believe I'd managed to do it without him knowing and still get other things done as well. Have to decide where to hang it now.

Chicky - there is no secret. There have been many times over the years I didn't think we'd get to 25 years. We've argued like everyone else but I do believe in the phrase don't go to bed angry - but I do add the stay up and argue bit to it :D

Louise - your cards are, as normal, lovely. I still can't believe how fast you manage to stitch things. I think the Angels hand looks better where you've put it.

Can't remember if I mentioned it but I have a ticket to the ICHF crafts at Christmas show at the NEC. Used some Tesco clubcard points to "buy" it so technically free as we shop at Mr T's anyway. Going on the Friday (Nov 9th) if anyone else is going and would like to meet in person for a coffee and cake happy to do so. Have to say there's nothing I have my eye on but that probably wont stop me. Have been saving a bit of money each week so I have some to take with me. Will count it at the end of the month and see what I have.

Off to deliver some training today, don't normally work on a Thursday so really pretty fed up at the prospect. Never mind after 4.30pm today off until Oct 29th. :j:j

Have a good day everyone and sorry for loooong post.

  • I went to the Mousetrap at the theatre last night - not very crafty, or MSE but very good nonetheless...

    Can't tell you whodunnit though, because it's a secret :) x

Alisb - thank you for mentioning about the mrT voucher for the hobbycrafts show at the NEC. I'm going to order it too and depending on work shifts I'll probably also go on the Friday. Perhaps we could meet up?
I know last time I went I didn't buy much, I found lots of inspiration but not a lot that I actually wanted to buy. This time I'd like some new stitchy scissors and perhaps a chart for my next project.
