What sort of back is n it? I imagine the standard pin and clip (iyswim?) back wouldn't work for a card and it would have to be more of a brooch style fastening?
Ohhh I just thought - those little guardian angel style pins you can get would make nice cards?
It was just one of those normal pins with the clipy bit you push on the back. It seemed to work fine A brooch style one would be more secure but it seems to be doing its job.0 -

Mags_cat - love your brown owl. It really works in those colours. Great frame too.
littlestar - hope you can get something sorted for your re-sit.
Finished a little snowman xmas card earlier in sparkly aida and I think it works.
Tried to work out an order for some threads for a couple of upcoming projects and I seem to have messed up somewhere along the way. Can't be bothered just now to get the charts out and start re-checking so I will leave it till tomorrow.
Might just catch up with Great British Bake Off now.

I would love to support my lns bit can not justify when online is sooo much cheaper. Still go and have a look occasionally but always resent having spent more than needed. Often feel tempted to start my own lns as I am convinced I could undercut them on EVERYTHING.. but that would be just mean, they have been a family business there since I was a kid. I was glad to see they had branched out to ebay but even then they are overpriced.
I had to leave the shop because I felt so uncomfortable. Normally walking round a stitchy shop and seeing all the lovely stash makes me feel all warm and cosy and happy and doing mental calculations as to how much I can afford to buy etc :rotfl: But it was just so overpriced and the range of kits wasn't that appealing. Some nice kits but kits more for the advanced stitcher. Sometimes I like to buy a kit as a reminder of my trip but they didn't have something that fitted my price tag and nothing that appealed.
I did end up buying a couple of books from Water$tones. I knew when I bought them that I would probably be able to get them cheaper online but for a change I thought I would support the local bookseller and it was nice to have them in my paws there and then rather than wait for them to be delivered.
My stitching update:
Did a very quick simple Bday card for a friend last night. The cupckae is a badge she can take off and keep.

This is lovely. Like a lotlittlestar1981 wrote: »I'm in sulk mode tonight... I turned up for my exam at 1pm and that was the FINISH time of the exam, not the start time. I'll just have to plead to be allowed to do the resit in April, not much else I can do now. I feel like a right idiot! Comforting myself with online craft shopping and cake followed by a couple of hours on Calendar Bears methinks. Hope everyone else had a better Tuesday (Flat Eric sorry to hear your day trip was not as good as you hoped!)
Ohhow annoying. Hope it all gets sorted for you. I don't think I would do too well if I had to take an exam now. Many many years since I last sat behind a desk in an assembly hall!!!
I was doing distance learning a few years back but wasn't very productive or successful with it and gave it up in the end. I felt sad when it got to exam day but was then shocked when I saw the news - this happened very close to the hotel I would have been taking the exam
 So today was meant to be a stitchy bubble of happiness. Except I haven't even stitched a stitch! I have felt under the weather today - generally glad to lay on the sofa with the snug and the cat. Then I realised this evening that the reason I feel so rubbish is because I'm dehydrated! My sole fluid consumption for yesterday included ... 1 cup of tea at home. A sip of sprite for my lunch. A caramel latte from Co$ta mid afternoon then half a john $miths at the chain pub followed by a 175ml glass of red wine followed by another half of john $miths at the venue! No wonder. Then today, a mere two cups of tea and the rest of my sprite???
Have sunk a 500ml bottle of water since getting home from fat club (slimming world) and feel much better :j (well not really but better than I did). Time for bed and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz0 -
Mags Cat, Sorry I was sure it was you. Maybe it was someone else. All I know is they stitched a design/series as a square but then started the round ones. So they mentioned that their mother would now ask for the square one to be re-stitch round. Must have been someone else
Sorry.
Love your owl, prefer it in brown for some reason
Skoobie, good luck with the paper aida. I have always though they were used for cards. Looks really nice though :T
Chicky, to be fair that design only took a max of 3 hours and I unpicked/moved over the siticthed words. I think I am going to do one every other week :rotfl:
Laura, that card is a fab idea! Your a genius :T :j :T
Thanks for your well stitching... I now have more of a 'bus', need to buy some more thread though so have moved back onto the building/lights. Won't update for a while though as no stitching tonight/tomorrow.0 -

Ah...yes that might have been me! One of the first things I ever stitched for my mum was a winter scene. This is 20+ years ago, and it was just a standard winter landscape. Cottage covered in snow, iced up river, small skiff moored up, that sort of thing.
Then Mum found the JC designs, probably about 7 or 8 years ago and I did circular Summer, Spring and Autumn ones. Hanging the Autumn Reflections picture last Christmas we both looked at the four of them on the wall together and said "One rectangle, three circles? That's not right..."
Hence "Hard Frost" :rotfl:0 -
