I have had an extremely productive afternoon, I got Matt Smith finished...
And then I thought I might as well get it framed while I was feeling organised......so that's part of Nephew's birthday sorted (2 days after Xmas!) he is a massive 'Whovian' I got a Dr Who lego Tardis reduced from £50 to £12.50 for his Xmas thanks to the lego finds thread on here :money:
Frame was £1.99 out of B&M, I posted about them a while back
These look absolutely stunning framed together - your nephew will be so thrilled and what a bargain (Lego and frame).
And such a productive day getting the other pieces framed/made into cards. Thank for sharing0 -
Flower : I did the summer and spring ones ages ago (before I started archiving patterns) but these are the ones that Mum picked. (She does this...sees a design she likes and buys it for me to stitch for her, having no idea of how complex the pattern is, what fractionals it uses, whether it's evenweave or Aida....you know!)
Anyway - this was the summer one - it looks much "brighter" in real life
And this is the spring design :
Thank you for sharing the other 2 "seasons" - the spring one is a particular favourite of mine and I think I have the chart in my stash. I have only stitched one of these JC circular designs although I like a lot of them - just need some more time. And I still think Hard Frost is stunning.
Good luck with the HAED - it will be worth investing in professional framing after all that hard work. It's a good idea to put money aside - perhaps as you complete a page?0 -

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by a needle minder but like Maria suggests you might be best looking online
However if you want to visit a stitching shop near Morecambe this one is in Cleveleys (north of Blackpool). I haven't been to this shop but I used to go to their previous shop a few years ago and they always had a good selection of kits as well as other stitchy bits and pieces.0 -
pap Love the way your London piece is really coming to life on the fabric
vickietm Hi
The WtP birth sampler is lovely. How far have you got?
skoobie ooh I like your chart even more now you have said it is stitched in silks. I love stitching with silk although I do have to be careful that my hands aren't too rough e.g. from gardening as silk catches much more than cotton thread. The silk mori sounds like a bargain and you are bound to have quite a lot left for other projects
Kitty stocking is cuteHave you used perforated paper?

Hi ladies.
Sorry if this post becomes really long and goes over old ground but I realised I haven't posted since last Tuesday and have 10 pages to catch up on so bear with me
Laura. Lovely pincushion, what a brilliant idea!
Skoobie. Cute felt Angels. Kitty stocking looks cute too.
Nmm. Nice BD update.
Brednall. Thanks for sharing the Lucie Heaton snowglobes, they are lovely. Have added the site to my favourites and I'm going to buy all 8 at some point but first I have to see if my local printers can print from a memory card/stick as our printer is slowly dying.
Ruth. Glad your op went ok and nice to see you back! Sorry to read about your friend passing away. I'm sure she knew how much she meant to you, don't beat yourself up about it.
Louise. I love the MP christmas cottage! Even after all this time of xstitching I'm still amazed at the difference back stitching makes.
Loving all your framed pieces, especially the cupcakes, you have been busy!
Chicky. 'IF' is lovely.
Sweetcarer. Loving the purplework, it's coming along quickly.
Scotstwinmum. Welcome to the Cafe!
Aneres. Congratulations on getting married recently!
Mags. Hard Frost is even more beautiful framed!
PAP. London is coming along really well. Look forward to seeing this finished.
Welcome back to those been away awhile and welcome to any newbies I missed
As for me. Not stitched since Friday but not in a hurry to get done so no matter.
Off topic. Went shopping Saturday for an outfit for a wedding in a couple of weeks.
Got everything I wanted for £49! Black trousers, top, shoes and jewellery. I think hubby was as surprised as I was that I got everything I wanted in one day :rotfl:
Back on topic, sort of.
Am visiting my cousin and the new baby I stitched the Country Companions slide for today. He's 10 days old now but I haven't been able to visit yet as I wanted to make sure my cold was completely gone.
I'm hoping they like it!?!?:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I'm back from my visit. Baby George is beautiful and the xstitch was received well!
My cousin really liked it and said it would go on the shelf in his room.
Not been back long so no stitching done today. Will do some tomorrow though as no plans to go out.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Thanks will have a look on their website, the needle minder is just like a magnet to park your needle when not in use, I end up losing them all the time lol

Hi girls
Hope you are well.
I have been doing some browsing this afternoon on the computer - had afternoon off and in between going to hospital and the doctor for the dreaded flu jag- I found a very old friend.
Most of you know I had a house fire and lost a lot of my cross stitch but I lost one of my favourite patterns. Browsing today I found it but for the life of me I can't remember what magazine its from - it will be either cross stitcher or cross stitch collection? It will be from mid nintys.
Well off to do some more on my book marks and maybe even christmas card.
Keep well till next time.
sweetcarer:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -
Welcome back vickietm - looking forward to seeing WtP.
sk00bie - kitty stocking looks lovely.
shelly - great result with the wedding outfit. Just knew the CC would be adored.
scotstwinmum- my needles always end up down the side of the sofa
sweetcarer - your sampler is beautiful. Hope you are well.
Had a bit of a shopping trip this afternoon and found these photocards in £land - they might come in useful for xmas stitchy cards.
Got some of the larger zippy bags from Ikea - 30 for £3. They are really strong bags but I just fancied the larger ones for when I'm putting charts etc in with the sorted threads.
Also had a flying visit into HC but didn't hang around too long before I got tempted.
Transferred some money into PayPal this morning and discovered that the funds are in account immediately. Thought I would top up balance before I order stitchy stuff later in the week. Thats how things should be with all the technology that is around these days.
OFF TOPIC
DH has made some limoncello and we have just tried it for the first time and I must say the result is very good. All it is is vodka, lemons and sugar. Apparently you can do something similar with Black Jacks - I used to love Black Jacks as a kid. These drinks are supposed to be for xmas btw
Take care everyone

Really come on!
I've sat and done that little blackwork owl tonight. I know one or two of you have done him. I have some friends who are crazy about owls, they have hundreds of owls all over their house, so that's another present for that festivalthatshallnotbenameduntilafterNovember. :rotfl:
Just need to find a frame for him. Never done blackwork before, it was surprisingly fast. I filled in his feathers with browns and taupe so maybe I should call him a brown work owl? Will take a shot tomorrow, he's just drying out after being washed.0
