If they are watching this site, they will know that we won't buy them for 12p, so that sudden increase in sales is over.

My 94 year old father in law loves these mushy peas, no chewing, tasty and an easy 5 a day veg. One downside they need to be opened with a tin opener, no ring pull unfortunately.

Hubby didn't care much for the Tesco ones, but thought the Sainsbury's one were good and worth the extra 4p when they were 8p.
Never tried Asda, but didn't like Aldi's.

near my late mum's house there was an an old-fashioned traditional fish shop/chipper/chippy/fish & chip shop (depending on where you hail from) that gave you a free carton of peas with a fish supper (fish & chips) they were proper peas, made with ham hocks

I never wanted to eat them with the fish, but put them in the freezer till I'd enough of them to make pea & ham soup :D

Tesco superstore has them at 12p but I nipped into the little Metro one this morning and they were 3p so bought 24 tins that will keep me going through the cold weather soup with a few crispy bits of bacon for lunch a couple of times a week and some crusty bread sounds like a really cheap and filling lunchtime snack
