OK I defend myself having been labelled 'unhelpful' - what exact 'help' does the OP want or is it just a vent ? There's no 'consumer' issue here, no 'Moneysaving' to be had and there must be hundreds of better places to air views on this topic than joining a site with the sole purpose of this post.

I'll add a helpful comment - put it down to experience and concentrate on the important things in life - by all means write to them and complain but don't make it the centre of your life.

Although I think we all get annoyed by first time poster who post petty complaints I don't think this falls in that category.

Your original post was therefore unnecessary, unpleasant and shows that you are obviously a bad seed!

I'm all for being nice to newbies but how did I know before opening this that it'd be someones first post - all that was missing was the ethnicity of the staff member. If I searched on Google for "I've been falsely accused of shoplifting" is this the first site that comes up :rotfl:

Very rude post given you're a newbie yourself!

If you have nothing helpful to offer, then go post elsewhere.

And perhaps read the rules, which state "be nice to fellow MSE'rs"!

OP, definitely write and complain! Their treatment was really poor!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

And now coincidentally 43 views with no response. Have I done something wrong (other than being a long time poster under a different name and using a pseudonym to bare my soul) ?

    Another alter ego.

Did you have the dog toy and receipt with you when you got stopped after coming out of the second shop. Did they ask to see it.

  • I hate it when people ask for threads to be deleted.

What help is it to other people with the same problem, if the thread is deleted? It could save someone having to wait for a reply, and regulars could be helping others.

I can't believe some of the responses on here. Some moron security guard stops her in the street and fails to identify himself as such or offer identification and some think this is okay.

Like op I would have told him where to stick it, in fact when he returned with other staff would have also told him to stick it after the first encounter.

Although there's not much you can do to be honest other than write complaints

I'd be onto their Head Office and try to speak to someone senior, I would be asking for compensation of about £200.

I'd also be inclined to talk to a solicitor.

how do you arrive at such a random number?

As for alter ego posting, that really needs to be banned, if you haven't got the guts to post under your 'trusted' user name then you know before you post what you post that its not the right thing to post.
