older children in pushchairs!

older children in pushchairs!

Sorry I didnt know which sub section this would fall within.

Its just I have a 4 year old and a 2 month old, and my 4 year old was out of her pushchair at 2 years old when it broke and we didnt bother replacing it. Of course everyone is entitled to place kids in pushchairs at an age when they can walk, It just makes me cringe, the icing on the cake is when the kid has a dummy in their gob. Is it just me who has this feeling?

Maybe you have nothing else to worry about?

It is weird to see kids in school uniform, limbs too long for the buggy, being pushed about in one. And quite sad how they and their parents are always very fat.

I can't say I worry about it, I just think whenever I see them that it is a shame the child is being set up to be unhealthy at such a young age.
Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.

Yes its a shame for the kids, surely its just parents being lazy.

You know nothing about the situation so why the angry face, they might not have a car and have to walk long distances or the child could have difficulties of some sort. Sad people are so quick to judge others.

Do you have a car and drive your kids or do you walk everywhere then?

  • Could have hidden disabilites?, heart condition or autism etc etc. Doesn't always have to be about laziness. My son is 2.5 but looks more like 3+, he will walk a fair distance but when he is tired no chance. He started playgroup today, he walked all the way there, had 3 hours of fun, not a chance he could walk back, he was asleep within 5 mins. Stop being judgemental and get on with your own life!.

In the case of both of my nephews who ended up in this situation it was because they hav Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

They're teenagers and wear nappies but not to worry, its a terminal illness and the eldest is on borrowed time already so he'll be dead soon and you needn't worry about being offended by him.

Why have you all gone to the extremes in your replies? That is not what the OP meant. Far too many children are mollycoddled these days.

My son has dyspraxia and was using his pushchair until he was 5 since he couldn't walk very well.

I used to push him to his swimming lesson after school (since I don't drive) as he was so tired and it was a long walk.

I can still remember some 'know it all' woman telling me that it was disgusting as he was too big for it.

It really upset me at the time, he is now 11 and still gets very tired after being on his feet all day.
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.
