  • look out for a brand called nicky - it's £2 for 9 rolls, i used to get it in farmfoods but then i moved away from a farmfoods and was gutted. recently i found it in a local independent store - I was overjoyed!

It is as good if not better than a lot of premium brands. I was unsure of the quality of such a cheap loo roll but i can recommend this one.:j

I'm lucky it seems - my local pharmacy, less than a five-minute chair-wheel away, sells individual 2-ply loo rolls for 15p each, kitchen rolls for 30p. They're not bad.
Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?
  • Don't keep all available loo rolls in the bathroom / toilet, people tend to use more if they think there is plenty and use more sparingly if theres just one roll to be seen.

also, those flushing wipes ect, the problem rarely arise in you own plumbing but further down the pipes!!
I once took care of my brothers house while he was away and 3 days in the drains in his garden became blocked and overflowing, had to call someone out to unblock them...NAPPIES and sanitary products were to blame...non of which my brother had used but he ended up with it all over his garden

lastly, those using wet wipes its not advisable to leave that particular area "moist" no matter how clean it is...

  • Not money saving on first consideration, but apparently there was (or is) a toilet paper that glowed in the dark - presumably to help users see what they were doing without having to turn on the lights (saving on electricity.

I've often wondered however if this would mean that by wiping one's botty with such coated paper would it rub off and give a new meaning to "the sun shining out of uranus"?
  • My advice would be to stick it up your..... :D

From Malaysia / Thai experience, it's generally a long bendy hose and a gentle stream rather than high pressure jet, with a single hand trigger on handle to initiate water flow, stops on release of trigger.
Grab hose one handed, finger on trigger. Front method is hand between legs holding handle or the from behind method leaning forward; always done while seated or nearly seated over bowl. Once positioned near target, initiate trigger, waste water falls into bowl. Release trigger to stop, and replace to holder. Dry and done.
I thought they were brilliant and want to install one here when I move. (Move house, not move bowels....)

I suppose this what retro_bunny meant (a toilet spray). I back this idea. You feel more cleaner and hygiene when washed with water. This is more environmental friendly and money saving too !

I'm a 3 a day man and the majority of those are undertaken using the company's facilities (not might I add the company's time which I always make up for). I guess those who work for a shrewder employer than me may find that the domestic staff stock their facilities with tracing paper which may discourage this approach.

I'm also lucky to work on quite a large site so have the choice of literally hundreds of quite varied facilities all with varied amounts of privacy, phone reception etc. Perhaps I am going beyond the scope of this thread here though.
  • I always have a dispenser of liquid soap near the toilet roll. Much cheaper than wet wipes.....
  • ALWAYS poo at work, you save money on water AND toilet paper PLUS you're getting paid for it! :rotfl:

I'm wondering if this post was submitted by my brother as his motto is

    "their time, their paper!"
    History repeats itself
    Has to.
    No-one listens
  • This thread is hilarious. That is all.
  • My Great Dane puppy loves loo roll, paper and anything he can shred. Note to self to keep loo roll locked out of his sight and close the bathroom door.
