  • I've got a YouTube channel! I needed videos of the music I'm teaching over Skype, and Dropbox filled up frighteningly fast, so YouTube it is.
Weird, seeing my hands online (close ups only)

I don't have a decent camera so the family helped with tech equipment, but it's such a good idea I want to extend it too all my students and will hopefully be borrowing stuff from work to make it happen :)

  • The cheque is here from Music Magpie :) £50.96 of interest-reducing-goodness.

    Thank you :)

    And yes, I really should!
Two reasons I don't.... One quite good, one rubbish...

    1) I look in my purse and think ooooo I'll pay £6.47 off my library debt. Then I think nah that's interest free, I'll pay off the 20% Barclaycard instead.....

    2) I always walk past the library when it's shut. Don't know why. :0

I should do it. It irritates me too, one day I'll get off my backside and pay it :)

  • I just paid £1.63 (the contents of my purse) off of my library fines :T

  • I'm now on the phone (thank you saynoto0870) to gas company to have a whinge about the fact that they want to up my direct debit again. Having got it down from £125pm to £78, and just had loft insulation installed, and just bought a dehumidifier (no more leaving heating on to dry clothes), I am utterly b*ggered if they are going to up it again!
I don't care if I owe them £86. They can add it on and to a year's (sensible) estimate and divide it by 12,.

On phone now :) opening gambit - "hello, I owe you £80, but you're not getting a £20pm direct debit increase" seems to be going well so far!

  • Its possible the guy who put me on hold might have heard me explaining to my daughter about how direct debits work, and that they're not getting the money, they can shove it ;)

  • Marvellous. Direct Debit is staying the same, and if I phone back on the 25th I can have a refund for £63 from the electricity account. Brilliant :T

  • I'm still not updating my signature  not until I can face it! My SOA on my spreadsheets are all up to date though :) so I'm not actually burying my head in the sand, it just looks like I am :o

It's not quite the end of the month, but it looks like I should be able to pay of somewhere between £300 and £500 off the credit card this month. I won't be sure until close of teaching on Thursday, but it's looking promising....

And my youtube channel is slowly getting there....... I need to organise and rename all the videos as they're a bit messy, but I did another load of recordings this morning, so it's all looking good.

I've had two separate lots of advice on my book now - one from a friend with a recent Phd thesis under her belt, and one who works in publishing. I've had quite a lot of inspiration off the back of the two of them that triggered off an impressive looking mind map and the start of a third draft scribbled on the back of a load of photocopied scores :) so I'm off to copy it up now onto Word before continuing with it :):) :T

  • Elec company is quibbling about the £63 refund :( Apparently my bill was generated early, or something, so it has too many DDs on it, so it looks in more credit than it is. She said she doesn't know why it was generates early. I told her that the website tells me that when I add an extra meter reading it will generate an extra bill. "oh".
    Stupid bluddy system.
Waiting for call back to see whether that money is mine or needs to stay on the bill.
